    I WANT THAT DONKEY! :D

I fully intend to call our next house Noah's Ark (OH thinks I'm joking!). We only have 4 pets at the mo but if I have my way we'll adopt the entire pet sanctuary :D Luckily, I have a very understanding OH (he let me get a kitten from the home before Christmas, once we'd checked we could afford it of course!).

I have LOADS of things to sell on Ebay/eBid, so I'll be checking that out soon. I'm determined to make my 5K savings challenge!

:T :T to everyone, you're all doing so well!! Hugs to mumzy, you've still got another 50 weeks to average out your spendings and at least you're thinking more about your spendings and trying to reel it all in!
I've just realised I've not spent anything this weekend, went to the zoo, he paid and as we got there at 2pm zoo entry was half price, they don't tell you that on their website! (it's chester zoo btw;) ) Then had a lazy weekend rest of the weekend and an now early night tonight in preperation for new job, I'm a terrible morning person! (after I've made my lunch of course!:rotfl: )
Hope you all enjoy the rest of your night and have a fabulous week!!

Couldn't resist popping back here again [I'm either here or on the simplifying thread on the OS board] Is it possible to suffer from a thread addiction methinks:D
Not much to offer except perhaps to make breadcrumbs from the bread and then freeze for later use. I use them in toppings mixed with grated cheese or to cover chicken nuggets.
I've just moved from dialup to broadband [hence why I'm now always on here and my husband has forgotten what his wife looks like:rotfl: :rotfl: ]. I used www.plus.net and am on their basic package [£10.74 per month for 2gb] No good for gaming or messenger but the router was free and I found the service to be very efficient. Anyway thought the info may be of use to someone as they don't advertise- all their business is done via recommendation.
    Keep up the good work!

Wow! A secret mission! Now that's my idea of some fun and it's another great way to look at this challenge. One of my mum's favourite questions is, 'how on earth do you do it?' when I bring her up to date with all my bargain buys and moneysaving ways, so I can now say that it's part of a secret mission - to sustain a debt free existance with the added benefits of everything everyone else can afford but without paying the full costs. :D I seriously cannot remember the last time I paid full cost for everything purchased within an entire day. But that's another game I like to play :rotfl: My days are never complete unless I've got everything I needed without paying full price. The bigger the saving, the better the day. Some savings can even beat a no spend day!
I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

    Mumzy,

Over the weekend, I have been reading Martin's new book. Admittedly, it doesn't contain anything that I haven't already seen on this site in various places, but it just somehow seems much easier to digest in a little handbag friendly size. I think if you got a copy you would find it interesting reading, and I do think it's worth the money. I like it best out of the books of his that I have got. I think it would support you in changing your attitude to spending (like I've had to). I think you're great anyway. I wish I had found this site when I was your age, and had your motivation too at that age. You can really change things for your family and that's exciting.

I will post more tomorrow, just busy on some other stuff tonight. Nothing thrilling, just a shopping list for Lidl now my child benefit is hitting the account tomorrow!

Does anyone know what the book is called?? I have a maestro card now woohoo so i can buy it off amazon!!!! if they have it.

NYK - I have done all my sum's and my total spend is on my sig. Jane helped me last night- she did great Thankyou. She emailed me it so i dont forget. :)

  • Hi Guys,
Have just finished reading all of your posts. They certainly help to keep me very upbeat. Another NSD for me today, but unfortunately I am a whopping £24.98 over budget this week, mainly thanks to grumpy son 'helping' with the grocery shopping! I was £5.48 over on my first weeks budget, so have taken £30.46 off of spend for next 2 weeks leaving me with £70.77 per week until the end of the month. I have checked the freezer and food cupboards and have made menus for the week which should mean a minimum food spend.

Congratulations to Lexxi on the new job and to Refiki on the second job. Last January I decided to get a second job to help clear my debt mountain. I worked in a care home for two evenings a week. After stoppages I ended up with £22.00 per shift. I also had the hassle of getting there and home again, late at night. I decided to try and earn and extra £40.00 a week from home. I joined three comping mags as well as writing fillers and letters for magazines. I averaged at least a prize a month, which I either kept or sold on through our local freebie paper or ebay and several cheques for letters, etc. The minimum of which was for £25.00. I'm trying to do the same this year, but will use the money towards my £1,000 free Christmas fund.

Thanks for all of your lovely support. xxxxxxxx
