Just to sort myself out I'm not including my bank charges. I'll be well under debt next month so £550 for 2 months so my charges will be spread over the 2 months lol0

Some weird meals are starting to happen on the quest to stay out of the supermarket!!! I had a couple of leftover flour tortillas with grated cheddar on and then grilled (yum) for a late breakfast (ok, I'll be posh and call it brunch even though it was 9.30!) and I've just had a yoghurt pot sized tub of custard nuked with a spoonful of cherry jam in it (to keep me warm - I'm freezing!)

Not wanting to sound daft or anything, but am I the only person here that is happy to have heating on. my thermostat is set at 22, my timer is for 8 hours and I am happy to flick it on to override when days are cold, like today.19th March 2007 LBM£5,969.63 1st January 2018 £5960.18, 1st January 2019 £11,032.0018th August 2023 £12,435.00, Student Loan £22244.00 From 2009-12Challenges: To learn to stop spending..0

Disaster! I just dropped a pound coin on the floor and it's rolled away somewhere. That's going to have to come out of this week's budget
I'm back at uni nowand spent £17.89 in the supermarket yesterday - £7.90 to stock up on basics (should last quite a while) and £9.99 on champagne on special offer for OH's birthday. A bit extravagant but still a bargain I thought

I have had some necessary plumbing work done today. I have paid for it out of my 'household repairs' budget. Should i deduct it from my 5200???THE LONG AND THE SLOW ROAD SEEM TO APPLY TO DEBTS AND DIETS... THE TWO THINGS I WANT TO SEE THE BACK OF...:D0

I lived in some appalling conditions when I was a student and vowed that I would live 'comfortably' if I could afford to once I was working.
We have our thermostat set at 23 when we are 'up' and about 21 when we go to bed. The heating is on 24/7. Our house is newish and well insulated so at least the heat does not go out into the environment.
My frugal living for the year will not include being cold, I would rather be hungry.

Well done on the new job Lexxi!
I also have my heating on - it's on timer (we don't have a thermostat) and I override it if I get cold, like now (despite being wrapped up). We have no double glazing and our loft has a gaping hole with no door so we suffer for it - I've bought some tape and glazing clingfilm stuff to help and OH is putting a door on the loft asap so that should help, but with my illness being cold is not an option. I'm going to phone up (or check online if I can) at the end of each month how much we've used so our DDs are realistic. We also need to switch supplier again, but not yet - waiting for the green light from Martin!
Itching to add up my spends/saves for the week but trying to keep life simple so will have to wait til tomorrow!
That phone deal is a bargain, will have to see if we can get something like that for OH in Feb!
Feeling pretty low today, not about money just health so looking forward to some more inspiring posts on here. Which reminds me, loved Aril's idea of a pamper box, and charity shopping; picked up some bargains myself yesterday! The 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000
