whats stardrops whitewing!?
thanks for the tips everyone, I'm going to take a look at that recipe site Rafiki, it sounds interesting
Just updating on todays spends so far
Bills - £16.00
Electric - £23.00
Food - (showing online in bank now) £36.07
Clothes - as new sunglasses for ds3 in charity shop 50p he has been told to take some for eye appointment next week & we don't have any.
Other - 50p vegetarian cookery book also in charity shop, this should hopefully help our food budget if we eat veggie 3-4 times a week
So a total of £76.07 from my budget of £94.23 leaving £18.16 left but I want to save as much as I can from whats left each week for pressies & clothes, don't think we'll need anything else this week except milk at the weekend unless ds3 has any unexpected school trips0 -
Stardrops is a cleaner, useful for floors, worktops, all sorts of things; its an Old Style staple and its very cheap, I pay about 74p. Saves filling up your cupboards with dozens of different expensive cleaning products - this one will do so much! there are OS threads about it, I'll try to find one
You’ll find all sorts of ideas for money-saving in the Old Style Index; sorry if I'm preaching to the converted but I wondered if there may be newbies who dont know of it so the links are below; have a browse; it wont all suit you but you might find something that will, and just using one of these ideas could save you quite a few £££s over the course of this challenge!

my housing issue:
i was married to a soldier, when we split last feb i got 93 days to leave the house, my council wont house me till its gone court route for reprocession, im waiting for this to happen, untill this has happened im not a proirity for re housing as me and the boys have something, when it go's to court and a procession order is made for the house then thats when they will do something and i will get housed.

Thank you very much for the stardrops info & links rosieben & fizzel
I will be having a read of the links tonight, I love the old style forum, everyone is so friendly but there is so much info I sometimes don't know where to start! so the links will be very handy
I don't have Morrisons here either but will try & hunt some Stardrops down, there is an shop which sells old fashioned cleaning things quite nearby so I will have a look there first
