nyk when does the week end for this challenge iam confused, is it tuesday new start of the week or tomo? i hope tomo i need to go shopping hahahaha
Hi Mumzy,
You can run your weeks any way you like so long as you budget for the entire year. If starting on a Monday is easiest for you then tomorrow is the first day of your week 2.
For anyone else who may be unsure, the challenge covers all your spending between 1st January and 31st December 2008, so spend however and whenever suits your budget but make sure you have budgeted enough to last the full year.
I have a desk diary for marking up all my expenses plus I have now registered to use www.spendingdiary.com so I can track my savings as well.I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

anyone got any advice?????My only suggestion would be to open a new current accoun with overdraft on it and use that OD to pay the old one off to stop the charges then pay that off with the £70 per month!

 I need to have a proper catch up with everybody later, but for now I'll just update and run.
Bought £49.09 worth of my staples.
PLUS
Replaced some Herbs, spices, worcester sauce, soya sauce and stock cubes etc to the tune of £7.21
Bought Braising Steak for the goulash I want to learn to cook this week £3.69 (Anybody got a favourite Goulash recipe they’d like to share?)
Bought what I hope is at least 6 months worth of shower gel for £9.92 (500ml Sanex on BOGOF at Tesco)
Bought 24 condoms cos they were BOGOF too! £7.98
Bought a new tap, £16.99 (now we have slightly odd taps but hey ho! The old tap is 50 years old and I don’t have the time or the money to trawl through reclamation yards to find its identical twin. )
Bought a new immersion heater £16.99
and a tool to fit it with £2.99
£114.96.
Not bad for Day Four!

Mumzy, I read on another thread that banks cannot deduct charges from benefit money, as its supposed to be the minimum you have to live on. Maybe if no joy you can go to citizens advice, or try the benefits agency who deals with your OH. My local council has a benefits advice line and a law centre run by the council, so you could try locally on your councils website if theres an advice centre.
Hope you get sorted soon, must be worrying for you both, They do like to turn screws and wind people up, I think youre making a more than reasonable offer as he`s on benefits. If they went to court they would get £2 a week.
