If I remember rightly, we had an Archers and lemonade and a bottle of lager and think it cost £6.30 or something.

Thats not too bad, I guess, I can drink those! I was going to suggest Printworks as they have 2 4 1 on cocktails at one of their bars!! Nowhere could be as bad as where I work beer starts at £4 and spirits at £6 then mixers are £2.50

liuhut I have been chipping in a little, I got the popcorn at the cinema at weekend! Oops, bes start getting ready, I have to try on my entire wardrobe yet, that's right I resisted the urge to splurge on a new outfit :T

G'Day all you lovely peeps, I have been a spending today...£14.30 on a mini trampette, a skipping rope and two exercise DVDS all from the local charity shop. I need some aids to help me lose my goal of 52 lbs and even though it's £14.30 out of this months budget this weight loss plan should save me pounds and pounds in sweets and junk food.

Normally I spend about £5 a week on magazines but have been resisting for the past 3 weeks...withdrawl symptoms aplenty. Earlier on my other half walked in with a copy of Bella, Closer and Zest. He looked very pleased with himself as he passed them to me, all this months copies too. I asked him where he got them from and he said proudly "I made sure I was the last one off the train and collected all the magazines that had been left by other passengers."

Awww bless him, I will make a MSE of him yet.

Keep watching them pennies folks and have a great evening.

    Love Genia X x

That is my target weight loss too and as it's my birthday in July I will join you in this challenge if I may? I'm also thinking cutting out 'junk food' and 'picking' will be my main area of saving although I can't join this challenge as my DH wont hear of it and I would only get frustrated when he messes it up!

I'll just wish everyone else luck
Doing voluntary work overseas for as long as it takes .......
My DD might make the odd post for me

Now that is a bloke worth keeping!!!

Just got back from a job interview and I feel drained. It's the first interview I've been to since 1999  so if I don't get it, I'll just see it as practise, althought I was happy with how it went.

I came in and thought - I fancy a bottle of wine and a Domino's tonight and just chilling out. I've got wine already which was leftover from stuff I bought before Christmas ,but a takeaway would eat into my precious money so I guess I'll have to cook as previously planned  (sausage paella)

I had sausage and mash last night. The sausage was 1.5 inches long and had bacon wrapped around it. I didn't ask any questions. It could very well be the first bloody bit of money saving my OH has ever done:D .

That's wonderful! You could make a "Love is..." cartoon featuring that :)

Good luck with the weight-loss challenge. I've got to shift a stone, hopefully by Easter. It's been months since I've weighed myself and got a biiiig shock on Jan 1st!

I did manage to have a no spend day today. My DH tried to throw away quite a bit of chicken from his plate at dinner but I cut it up and gave it to my cat instead, so that saved me a pouch of food. The rest of the chicken on the carcass is going to be cut up and had tomorrow as a curry. I wanted to make a soup with the bones/carcass but DH felt that it would be taking things too far. Babysteps, babysteps. He'll come around eventually.

hi everyone, just checking in on day 3 :)
was feeling a bit down all day today worrying about ds3's cardiology appointment but I am sooo happy now as his heart is fine, he still has a couple more tests to go but it is looking much more positive now :) :j
I have spent £39.66 so far in the challenge, bought a few bits of food we needed & topped up the electric. Made some cheesy topped bread rolls today & stew in slow cooker for dinner, have liquidized whats left into a weird kind of turkey soup for lunch tomorrow :D

Protogenia that was so nice of your oh, really impressed with him! :)

Hope you have a lovely night Lexxie & thank you very much for the recipe too :)

Keep up the good work everyone :)

It was all going so well. Oh dear. Could not get the car into gear today, it was fine yesterday! AA man said it was the gear box. Argh!!! He towed it off to a garage, may get a quote tomorrow.

On the plus side it means my dd will have to get the train back to Uni and that will be much cheaper in time and petrol than me taking her. ( I was taking her by car as she is in need of lots of TLC at the moment.)

Other than that, I have only spent 1.62 gbp on milk since start of year. And I don't actually know that car repairs will be a fortune.....

    Nil desperandum!!

    xx

So far, no money spent this year :j

We've discussed this spending plan and, though not happy - who would be?!, we're both up for it.

Now, all I need to find is a free subscription for the Guardian and free beer! Any ideas.... :rotfl:
If you see me on here - shout at me to get off and go and get something useful done!! :D
