Thanks liuhut, Tower is in Manchester, it's called the sky bar or cloud 23 as it's 23 floors up and suuposedly has fabulous views of Manchester. I've never been as drinks are expenisive but I've started seeing someone who is quite well off and it's his idea, I feel bad him keep paying for things (his choice) but I cant really contribute although he hasn't really asked! Even so, I'm all excited about seeing him again

Lexxi, When I met my OH he used to pay all the time, he was on a lot more money than me and had his own place. I used to chip in occasionally but only if we had gone somewhere cheap!!

Lexxi, Where's the Hilton Tower?? I'm guessing London? Why not down pints!!! I'd start as I mean to go on! Have a fabolous time oh and good luck!
Manchester Hilton Hotel Deansgate. I was there 2 days before xmas and it was beauuuuuutiful!!!! We stayed on the 16th floor. I will say though that my Tesco clubcard vouchers paid for 2 thirds of the room. Luxury. We had an amazing view across manchester from our room.GM Credit Card balance - £895.69Mortgage - £67499.17 - MFiT no. 123Make £10 a day - April 2008 - £158.75/£3000 -
Well I'm not doing very well. Aiming to keep all outgoings to less than £100 a week and have failed already by day three. But keep telling myself I'm just getting things in for the weeks ahead. filled up with petrol(£40 but have my Asda card coming soon which will help) and put £20 on mobile as only had pennies left. Kids have gone back to school which meant dinner money for this week and next week plus having them back at school meant I had longer to wander round the shops in peace which is not always a good thing. Spent £11 in Superdrug cos all the jewellry was half price and I got three sets to put away for presents which should help later. Next week I'm not leaving the house apart from essentials0

Wish me look tonight, I have a date and we're going to the hilton tower, which I know isn't very cheap, wouldn't be very ladylike to drink pints in somewhere like that to keep cost down, would it? :rotfl:
If I remember rightly, we had an Archers and lemonade and a bottle of lager and think it cost £6.30 or something.GM Credit Card balance - £895.69Mortgage - £67499.17 - MFiT no. 123Make £10 a day - April 2008 - £158.75/£3000 -

I am deeply embarrassed now, there are much more worthy causes than my whining at others to live on a shoestring budget. But THANK YOU

Juliejay, your budget hasn't failed, it's only your way of thinking that makes it seem that way. I'll update this in 2 minutes, just wanted to let you know you HAVE NOT FAILED... back in a mo to edit this
I'm back - is there any chance you can put your challenger number (20) and your annual budget target (£5000) in your signature so it's easier to see how you are managing? Just go to User CP at top of this page, then click on Edit signature on left of page so you can type the details into the pop up box and click to save
I'll do the update in a new post as it looks like day 3 may be a reality check for several people. Have faith, finances are fun once you get them under control and into your new way of thinking
GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR DATE, LEXXIE!!
