    What is Freezer Guard Technology

Did you know that when some freezers or fridge-freezers are used in an environment below 0°C it can cause them to stop functioning? If you plan to locate your freezer in a garage, conservatory, outbuilding or anywhere where the temperature may drop below freezing, Beko freezers and frost free fridge freezers with Freezer Guard technology are the perfect solution. (Are they ?)

With Beko’s Freezer Guard technology, we can guarantee that your freezer will work in temperatures as low as -15°C or 5°F.

Please note, the fridge compartment will not work properly in low temperatures, so we recommend you only use the freezer compartment in low ambient temperatures and not the fridge compartment.

That text above does seem a bit contradictory

Not sure that Freezer Guard is anything more than a different refrigerant which stays more liquid at lower temperatures ?
but if it was that easy why don't all the others do it ?

I have a Beko Freezer only in the garage which worked fine for last couple of years
and it it monitored  (just cos I like fiddling with gadgets )
(ok its not so cold outside at the moment either)

Will the Freezer Guard prevent icing up of the the drainpipe that drains into the tray above the compressor?

    Thanks.
Sorry for the delayed reply - and for the fact that I don't know, sorry!

I don't think the ambient temperature in the garage dropped below freezing very often, and certainly it wouldn't have done so for more than a few days at a time, so maybe it wasn't long enought for this to be an issue. Or perhaps it's arranged so that the waste heat from the compressor does enough to keep the pipe flowing?

I can only say that we didn't notice a problem with the pipe freezing.
