Need feedback on Beko frost free fridge freezers. It is going in an unheated utility room that that has low temperatures in the winter, so Beko seems to be best. What are your experiences and any suggestions or other useful info.

Please move if I've posted in the wrong  board.

Thanks

Most fridge freezers are not designed for unheated rooms/environments unless it specifically says so in the paraphernalia that it can go in such an environment.  If it doesn't say that then regardless of brand its probably not a good idea to put it there, as it will probably pack up quicker than it would do otherwise.
  • I have a Beko Fridge and a Freezer, which live vey happily in my garage and they are rated good for low temps. But some bekos aren't designed for that you need to check on their site.

    Thanks for your quick response.

Beko, eg. The CFG3582W are ok down to -15 degrees . Cent.

As you say most makes are dodgy at low temps.

Beko ff models appear to be ok in low temperatures. Not sure if all are.

    Are Beko reliable?

    Thanks
  • I've had the Beko CF5834APW frost free fridge freezer since 2013. Never had a problem with it.

    Thanks @debitcardmayhem

    Are your Beko's separates?

Have you had them for long?

Some peeps suggest Beko's are heavy on energy juice?

Ours is in the kitchen. Both homes it's been in have had pretty cold kitchens but obviously not as cold as a garage might be. I'd certainly buy one again (but hoping I won't need to for another 9 years!).

A technology called "Freezer Guard"  enables Beko frost free fridge freezers to work in low temperatures.

Freezer Guard info details, " We do not recommend you use your fridge compartment in Low ambient temperatures".

What is "Low", Beko are reluctant to put a figure on it?

Did your ff Beko fridge section work ok in low temps, say 3 or 4 degrees Centigrade?

I'm becoming confused. Do I get a Beko with Frost Guard, or not?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

We have a 10-ish  year old frost free in the kitch 200cm tall a Smeegg and similar size by Beko in the utility room and that is 8 years old. Both are split 50/50 fridfe and freezer. Recently I saw the paperwork on the Bekoo bought in 2014 and not a problem with it and used 24/7 but not as much as the one in the kitchen but freezer fully stock all of the time and fridge has some stuff in it.

Have relative who use Beko FF with freezer guard in unheated outhouse and report no problems with it.

If you feel the temperature is getting so low in your utility room that fridge section might switch off you can put bottle of lukewarm water in fridge in evening, this makes fridge work to cool water and keep going during low overnight temperature.
