Shell Broadband 3 months free

I signed my parents up to Shell Broadband following using the broadband comparison tool on this website. This website said you get 3 months free line rental which is added as a credit to the account within the first 2 weeks. It's almost at the 2 week mark but when I go to the bill section of the Shell Energy account it shows a page saying:

Anyone know if this will come through or you have to jump through hoops to get this?

I'd run very far away while you are still in the cooling off period. I was tempted by the good deal with them and their customer service is truly terrible.
I ended up staying with Virgin who gave me £13/month.
Shell Energy promised to get me online very quickly. The equipment didn't turn up until after the engineer was supposed to come and do whatever. Trying to cancel the engineer was impossible. Took me days to actually speak to a human, who then told me it was too late to cancel. He told me there was no way I could cancel and they would take over my line whether I wanted them to or not.
Had my neighbours waiting for the original 2 deliveries and engineer appointments. I did the 3rd day. No sign of equipment or engineer.
2 hours after the 3rd engineer slot, the equipment was delivered.
I had emailed them during the cooling off period to tell them not to take over my line. Told them I did not want to go with them.
I haven't even had an email back to say they got the message. Only an email asking me to reschedule the engineer as they were very sorry that he didn't turn up. Oh, and 3 phone calls from BT Openreach trying to reschedule again.
TLDR: run a mile. They are not worth the stress.0 -
There is an episode of You and Yours on BBC Sounds saying exactly the same as I have written here.0

You had a better experience than me. That's good. I'm happy with my decision not to go with them. If I had had better customer service then I would have stayed too.0
