  • 1 year fixed rate is back. I applied just now. But like others need to send a bank statement for the nominated account.

1 Year No longer available again. 2 Year not available still.
  • The 1 year is available once more. It's all very hit and miss.

I applied yesterday evening and they requested me to send certified photocopy of ID (post office charge £12.50 to do this!), proof of address, and bank statement.

They then write back by post to confirm once they've received. Very odd in this day and age.
I'd be surprised if after all this you couldn't fund your account as they had strictly enforce their T&C's. I'm leaning towards anyone who applied before it was pulled will be able to fund their account.
If anyone was wondering on this point, I have funded the 2 year after it had been pulled, and they have applied the 5% rate.  So you should be fine if you haven't yet funded it and are worrying if the money will be returned or not.

Did you do a trial payment first or fund it in a single payment?

I just did the single payment.  They have CoP at least, so that might give some reassurance.

Their T&C's do stay you can make multiple electronic transfers within the window. So I'll make my obligitary quid deposit first.

You say you can do a test payment before sending the full amount. I have sent £1 which has left my bank but has not appeared in my Vanquis account. I do not want to send a large amount until I know I have sent correctly. The terms say you have 5 days to fund from the first investment. I have spent 2 hours on the phone listening to music but have been unable to get an answer. Any ideas?

When did you send it?  I sent the stated minimum opening sum, £1k, yesterday, but it didn't appear in my account until today - recorded as arriving yesterday.

Update. A further payment sent about 10 am is showing now at 2.10 pm.

Edit again (I misread the post I'm replying to, not used to forums!)
I opened my account online this moring. I did a test payment of £5 from my linked Natwest account, and 2 hours later the £5 still hadnt appeared in Vanquis. This is the bit where I am stupid! I carefully read again the details under the "Pay into your Vanquis account" tab (or whatever its called), and realised I hadnt added my account number in the payment reference. So I've corrected that inexcusable mistake and done another test payment of £1. Quote from said tab :
    Sort code:     XXXXXXXXXX
    Account Number:    XXXXXXXXXX
    Beneficiary*:     Vanquis Bank Savings
Clearing Bank (if required)     Barclays Bank Plc
Reference/Account Number:     You will also need to correctly quote your reference or full account number when making the transfer (i.e.ABC1234567DEF)
However sending just £5 is probably also a mistake since it says in the Summary Box "Minimum Opening Deposit: £1,000". Has anyone successfully sent a £1 test payment? I guess I better do a third payment now...  :s:#
