DCBL final notice

Hi all, I’ve been looking at the DCBL thread and just wanted to get some clarity on this letter I received on 07/10. After lots of warnings I received this letter (the fine is from parking at my job as an NHS nurse 🙄). Am I safe to continue to ignore these letters? I’m beginning to lose my nerve and I’m getting worried about being hit with a CCJ! Thanks for any help! ☺️0

Ignore.
You can only get a ccj IF it goes to court AND you lose AND then you don't pay.
Wait until you get a court letter3 -
Thank you so much for your response! Do you know what the actual likelihood of them taking me to court is? And if they do, what are the kinds of things that help you to win your case? ☺️0

well we can never say for sure but have a look at this thread....
DCB LEGAL RECORD OF PRIVATE PARKING COURT CLAIM DISCONTINUATIONS — MoneySavingExpert Forum
It seems that they ( nearly always end up going through the motions, then make you an offer, and then just before the court case they instruct their lawyers to discontine.2 -
There is a "newbees" thread in that you should read it will give you all the info of what you need to do and when, and if you need to ask a question and one of the many experts will advise you want to do and say.
The important thing is not to lose your nerve and cave into these leeches.2 -
The private parking firm involved is Car Parking Partnership, a trading arm of ParkingEye Ltd.If PE put any case out to debt collectors you can be almost certain that it will go no further. PE have their own legal department and if it was to proceed to court, they would have issued proceedings a long time ago. It's likely the hospital trust don't want any of their staff to be sued.Just ride this out, it's going nowhere, but you're more than welcome to come back if you get anything that looks remotely like a court claim. DCB Legal will be involved then, not DCB Limited who are just debt beggars surviving off their 'Can't Pay ..... ' TV series to frighten people into opening their wallets for them to help themselves! Do note the difference of Legal v Limited. Your current letter is from the Limited part of the outfit - safe to ignore. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

1: You do NOT owe £170 ..... DCBL are scamming you for £70
2: Their tactics trying to scare you into thinking you will get a CCJ and get a bad credit score is simply junk. That would only happen if you lost in court and did not pay.
You are here now so it's more likely DCBL will lose in court and have to pay your costs. Their latest wheeze is to discontinue so stick with it
And, take no notice of their "can't pay, we'll take it away" logo on their letter. You no doubt remember the comedy show on TV of the same name.
Just IGNORE the letter and if a real court claim pops through your door, come back here for all the help you need

DCBL do not want to hand this back to their client because they will have failed and won't get their fee.The threats in this carefully worded letter are designed to word blind you to the paragraph which actually states:.......if our client is successful then this may result in a county court judgement......Which is not a threat at all if you take in what is actually means!3
-
They should also add .... "And if we think we will be spanked in court, we will discontinue"fisherjim said:.......if our client is successful then this may result in a county court judgement......
This joke is already over all search engines

Three things to do (please) if you want to help change things and make a real difference:ElishaJones said:

1. Please please please can you - and other people with DRA letters - PHONE UP these firms and RECORD THE CALLS and post a redacted recording (without your name etc., at the start of the conversation). We need evidence that whatever you say to these firms in terms of your dispute, that they talk over you and just demand the money. I need that evidence for Government please.
2. Report that letter to the BPA because DCBLtd are a member. Complain that it misleads people that they may get a CCJ which may affect them getting a mortgage, but fails to say this can only happen if they win the case AND the victim then fails to pay within 30 days. Also complain that DCB Ltd are continuing to carry the 'Can't Pay? We'll Take it Away!' Logo on letters at pre-action stage when that is impossible - they cannot remove goods at pre-action stage.
3. Also do this, please:

Thankyou! If anyone can record your calls please start a thread with the links to the recordings. We need evidence, urgently.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Only panic (but slightly!) if you get a letter of claim. At this moment its just noise. Impressed though with one thing, date of so called contravention was Feb 2022 and here we are at the Final Notice! How many other letters did you receive in the last 6-7months??2
