Work from Home tax claim

Hey everyone,
I recently found out about the claim you can make through HMRC for working from home during the pandemic
I worked on and off from home during the pandemic - my work kept sending us back during periods and then closing again. Over the 2 years, I worked out that I worked from home for a year in total.
As the HMRC website is asking to now submit for full years and you can't claim for periods anymore, I was going to claim for just one year only or just forgetting about it and not claiming at all. Has anyone else done the same?

I am going to guess that someone whose "work kept sending us back during periods and then closing again" is an employee. If you were obliged to work from home for a single day in 2020/21 due to coronavirus, you can claim WFH allowance for the whole year, unless your employer paid for you to work from home The same applied for 2021/22. The same will apply for 2022/23, but nobody is obliged to work from home due to coronavirus as there are no lockdowns (at least up until now). You can still claim the allowance for 2022/23 if your employer required you to work from home and the nature of your job is such that you have to work from home, but it is much tougher to meet these requirements. Examples are given here:

Thanks folks,
I'm an employee - we were told to work from home as soon as lockdown was enforced (although I started the week prior as I was sent home with coronavirus symptoms). We weren't paid to work from home that I'm aware of anyway.
I'm just cautious in claiming as my employer sent us back as soon as they could and then it was on/off from there. I don't want to get into any trouble if that makes sense.0 -
Millions of others claimed two full years of WFH allowances. There is no reason why you should get into trouble for claiming, based on what you have said. See:
