Yes, eCall has been part of UNECE (United Nations Economic Commission for Europe) type approval requirements for all new cars since April 2018.

The UK has left the EU, but not the UN, so it's still a legal requirement here.

It's an EU thing, but not a UK thing. We'll probably follow along anyway.
However, how many cars do you think are build here for the domestic market only?
Realistically any car from an EU manufacturer or selling into the EU will add the feature and we'll get it anyway because it'll be cheaper than designing it out.

My car has one, a 5 year old A Class but as it was built in Germany to be expected. Only problem is "the Don't Push The Red Button Syndrome" and yes I did push it0
