For the first time since I got the card I now have no offers on tesco (still very high unutilised limit).

I have just submitted what I think will be my last 2 balance transfers before no long term debt, I paid some debt off now in cash, and the rest still on cards the direct debits are set to clear by the time offers are done.

Barclaycard out of nowhere offered me 0% 18 months for first time in about 2 years (but still low limit on card).  I have been using this card for spending so only part of the balance available, that was one of the transfers, and cleared the spending manually now so I could adjust the DD for it.

With BOE rates now at 3% I cant see many offers surviving for a period of time.

    We'll see.

    Still plenty of deals around.

I suspect the ultra-long 3-year type deals might go, and the fee might rise.

But this is still a good way of getting new custom so I suspect they'll stay

There were plenty of these offers around in the pre-credit crunch era when base rates were always aroundabout where they now are, right?

Individual offers with lenders come and go.
  • I got new BT and MT offers for Sainsbury's just this week after not having any for a while

I suppose behaviour changes might account for what I am seeing.

Tesco card, been making large payments on top of DD for last 4 months so balance is cleared by end of 0% period.  In the past I didnt do this as I was happy to pay off slower and just keep transferring.

Barclaycard been using for food shopping and paying off in full every month (plus couple of other things), this might have triggered them sending me a 0%.

Although logically it makes sense for them to tighten the criteria.
  • Lloyd/MBNA put 2 offers on my account after 0 for quite a while, but the 0 fee money transfer option offer the apr has gone from 3.9 to 5.9 apr

    And you don't want it??

2.6% for 18 months, that's 1.73% annually. We have some higher savings rates now, so if you could make a few extra quid, plus build some extra credit history by paying it back. :)

I took enough to top my 5.12% rainy day saver up to £5000, leaving it at that for now

What makes you think they'll withdraw it? Barclaycard have been doing these for years. You sure its not 2.6% for a year, and a balance transfer for 18 months for a 2.9% fee?

Took the money transfer a few days ago and the offer stated interest will start accruing on 1 June 2024 therefore 19 month duration.

Note that marketing states 1-2 days for the funds to be credited however in my case it took a full week.
