Becky Adlington's Swim Stars - Unfair terms?

Hello,
One of our swimming class sessions for the kids was cancelled due to the Queen's funeral. We assumed that we would not be charged for the cancelled session, and that it would be adjusted for in upcoming payments, but it turns out that we were charged. In their terms and conditions it states that if THEY cancel for any reason, WE have to email, within 30 days of the cancellation, requesting a refund for the session.
From a consumer rights/law point of view, is this a fair rule?

Did you email them within 30 days to ask for a refund?
Were the T&Cs available to you when you signed up to the swimming classes?Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -

Did you email before the 30 days had elapsed?0 -
'We assumed' says it all I'm afraid.

Time limit for a claim is 5/6 years depending on where in the Uk you are. They can't put a 30 day limit on it. They can ask you to email for a refund within that time, but they can't restrict your consumer rights if you don't.
As was the case with covid, if it was outwith their control they can potentially (not always) escape liability for any losses you incurred. But it doesn't entitle them to charge for services not performed as agreed. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride1
