Hi, I paid for parking at NCP Shrewsbury and now have a fine letter from them, I appealed it saying I paid at the machine but I feel the machine was faulty and I paid cash (I am just waiting to hear back whether I actually paid card as I can't remember but my husband is checking my bank statement) what do I have to do now, I feel that it is wrong to get a fine when I paid.

That's a shame that you already appealed before coming here. The 100% slam dunk 'guaranteed' win that you probably had as registered keeper, is now in the bin, due to admitting to driving.
We presume you realise that - and saw how this should have been appealed by the keeper - after reading NEWBIES PLEASE READ THESE FAQS FIRST which provides all the resources and info you need (at the top of this forum).
It is not a fine.
Is this a railway station car park?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Is there anything that I can do in my current situation as I was not aware of not admitting driving? It is a standard shopping centre car park.0

Was this the Station car park or the one at Wyle Cop? Are you a local? The pen is mightier than the sword ..... and I have many pens.1

Hi Trainerman, it was Wyle Cop0
-
I haven't used that in one in a while. Did you have to input your vehicle registration, and how did you get on tracing if you had paid by card? The pen is mightier than the sword ..... and I have many pens.1
-
I input vehicle reg and paid using cash.0

The other people were complaining that the machine wasn't giving receipts and mine did not give a receipt despite the machine taking my money.0

Yes, I was just checking and they do use ANPR. So, even if you have given the game away about the driver, if you are sure that you input the reg number, then you have something to work with in terms of a minor keying error. The pen is mightier than the sword ..... and I have many pens.1

Complain to the BPA about this and say how all the other people in the queue were also saying the machine was taking money but not printing any receipt.
As you admitted to driving I'd ignore NCP now unless you can prove the broken machine, as POPLA evidence (such as going back WITHOUT THE CAR and paying the lowest fee as if your car was there, and filming it not printing receipts yet swallowing the cash).
Only try POPLA if you can get evidence.
Do the BPA complaint, especially if you can also evidence the issue.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
