Lyca Mobile new deal

I signed up for the 21p a month for the first 6 months deal from last month. I have just been sent a SIM card but I have not put it in my phone.
This month the deal is now 5p a month for the first 6 months!
Now I'm wondering
if/how I can activate the sim I have on the 5p plan or if I have to get a new
SIM sent and sign up all over again... ?
Also, is the first plan on auto top up from my bank card, or it isn't because I didn't activate the SIM?
Is anyone here a Lyca expert? Their website seems confusing with no mention of the MSE deals

I signed up for the 1p/month deal some months ago but haven't put the sim in a phone. No charges have been made since the initial 1p charge at signup.
Does 21p vs 5p (or even 1p) / month really matter? The charge from month seven is more relevant (unless you are just binning the thing after six months).0 -
Whatever the "deal". 1p, 5p or 21p/month, best of luck if something goes awry and you need to endure their so-called customer service!

Just tried to do the same and ended up in a conversation with a snippy person on chat. I found their website confusing and help was no use. They don't seem to understand that not everyone is technically minded. Looks like I'm going to have to go elsewhere. Does any mobile provider have decent customer service?

I will be binning it after month 6 yes. 21p vs 5p is mega deinflationary!

Not that I've noticed. They all seem nice if things are going fine but if there's an issue, they all seem to drop the ball a bit. I have personal experience of dealing with 3, Asda mobile, Smarty and RWG in the past year and they all seem to be about the same. 3 and Asda mobile were the worst of the lot though but it was probably because I wanted a refund from them (after they increased their prices) and they didn't make it easy. Smarty isn't bad but I am fairly technically minded so my questions are usually billing related.Dysl??? said:Just tried to do the same and ended up in a conversation with a snippy person on chat.
