Shell Energy not taking government energy payment off DD

As I understand it, the government support payment should come off your DD?

Well, it's not. They are just adding it as credit to your account & still taking the full amount (£100). I'm now up to £380 & they still want me to increase my DD!

This happened at the beginning of October, & now at the beginning of November.

Anyone else?!?

I actually reduced my DD to the lowest they would allow (£100) as I thought it was too high, & changed the date they take it. They still took half of it on that day, & then the new full amount again on the new day 10 days later!

As if Shell's reputation wasn't already in the news for taking your money...

I think this might be a issue with your account.  With mine, although they didn't change the amount they said my DD was for, in fact the amount that was taken out my account did have the government grant reduced from its total.

You will need to contact them I imagine, but good luck getting anywhere! I asked for a refund on my credit last week, and waited 144th in the queue to do so.  Chap said he would process it and I've heard nothing since!

I think it's a problem with them not wanting you to owe them money (in actual fact, not allowing you to reduce you DD), but fine for them to keep yours!

166 in the queue. I've sent them an email.

    Hi Mike,

I'm with Shell and you are right in October they didn't take it off. However, they did take it off my DD in November. However, I have increased my DD to ensure that my usual DD amount is taken, otherwise I will end up in debt with them taking the governments £66 off my DD.
