I applied for a Co-op account in time to benefit from this offer, and my debit card finally arrived on Friday. During the application it gave me a switch date of 23/03, but I have not heard anything since.

Will Co-op contact me regarding my switch? Or should I just assume that the switch will take place on 23/03?

They write to you confirming the account you're switching from, the switch start date and end date. They also text at the start of the switch to confirm the switch date.

I received my debit card prior to the switch date of 8th March. Heard nothing after debit card arrival but switch happened on the 8th and I received my referral money on either 9th or 10th so I imagine you can just assume that it will take place. I was hoping to be able to refer my daughter but refer a friend was pulled before I had chance to. My eyes are peeled for it coming back :)

I'm not sure they'll be in a hurry to bring it back. There are a lot of complaints about them not paying the bonus, making up T&Cs on the fly to avoid paying, many complaints going to the FOS.

Yes I have read lots on here about it ! I am doubtful too really. I suppose it depends how much of a headache it causes them in the end.

There were complaints first time around too.

All they'd need to do would be add a term that you must not have received a referral payment for joining since October 2022 (or whenever).

There'd still be a few morons trying it on - but it'd be meritless if the terms were clear.
  • I know some worthy souls on here have started the formal complaints process with Co-Op re non-payment of second bonuses.

Is there any merit in joining them or will any decision cause retrospective payments to those others similarly refused?

I wouldn't count on the complaints process working in that way, it's your responsibility to complain for yourself.

Quite happy to, just didn't want to hinder/slow the process by adding to their (no doubt growing) pile of complaints.

The more the merrier. If it's en masse then it demonstrates to them the terms aren't clear.
