PIP letter - We have now have all the information we need to make a decision

The letter was originally designed to be sent when a decision was imminent (there is also a text equivalent). However delays mean that it then takes weeks for anything to happen next.

Maybe I am more chilled than others but the text reassured me that I hadn't fallen through the cracks and been forgotten. Had I not received the text, I might have been inclined to give them a call to make sure I hadn't, instead, I settled in for a long wait (bearing in mind they said they hadn't even looked at the paperwork).poppy12345 said:TELLIT01 said:poppy12345 said:I don't understand why the continue to send such a pointless letter. All it does is cause more anxiety and they could save postage by not sending those silly letters.
The letter isn't pointless. It's informing the claimant or their appointee that the claim is being processed and saving them the need to chase it.
I disagree, all it causes is more anxiety.
The text saying things hadn't been looked at yet was on the 9th, the date on the decision letter was the 10th!We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.1 -

They should add a timescale for a outcome of the claim. As a letter saying "we now have all the information we need to make a decision" is just the sort of update people need.
Constantly sat with no update is something many people complain about & ends up with people calling for updates & delaying other callers.Life in the slow lane0 -

Yet, so many people ask why they send that pointless letter and they often ask why they received it and what does it mean.
