Coloured banisters - views and opinions!

Hey everyone,
We're thinking of painting our white banisters a colour. Colour TBD, but something quite bold - mid/dark green, blue, eggplant etc type vibe.
Three thoughts on the combos...
1. Contrast - white spindles, dark newel and handrail.
2. Uniform - all dark
3. Shades - dark handrail and newel, mid/lighter spindles - e.g. Dark green and middle green etc.
Anyone done any of the above any thoughts most welcome!
FYI, wooden floor, mid wood colour, white doors, skirting, architrave. Will repaint the walls, something pale, not sure what yet, pale green or blue was an idea, pale duck egg etc.

Sounds like a lot of fun!
I've had friends paint the skirting red with white wallpaper, small red flowers and black and pink bathroom. All looked great. It just takes courage and care to make it work.
I'd paint the walls first and then see what would work best against them.
Lots of colour charts to hold up :-)I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Any if those will work, it just depends on what tones you choose.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Go for it. We have just installed purple window frames. Why be boring?

If I had my way the house would be mental - I love mad print, colour, etc. Oddly enough it's my wife who calms me down and stops me going ott. Seems I get this from my Mum.
Still trying go decide what will look best. Part of me thinks the all oje colour, quite dark, will be less interesting and too over powering.
Will share some pics (online, not my place!)...0 -
This, https://st.hzcdn.com/fimgs/d492d3e70b10f9b1_9153-w240-h287-b0-p0--.jpg in a different dark colour is one idea (our spindles are a bit plainer).

This I have to see...I cannot begin to imagine what would work - I just don't have that eye at all.I need to scour Google, Pinterest and all that malarkey before I am convinced summat will work. Is there much out there under "colourful banisters"?

Yup... :-O4

I just love those coloured stairs!
I had an artist friend who mostly painted red. Her other colour was bright pink. Somehow it worked. I couldn't live with it but it looked great.
A lot of my friends are artists and each home unique and fun. Somehow I mostly missed the memo apart of being fed up of black and white exteriors and used lavender and cream. Surprisingly I got a lot of compliments.
Down our road a bench with every slat a different pastel colour. It looks so inviting.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

There's two ideas I have at the moment...
Dark/bold newel and hand rail with lighter shade of similar colour for spindles - as above in op.
Dark bold newel and hand rail, spindles the same colour as the wall!.. TBD.
I think the second idea is an interesting one, it'll give us the contrast I think we need without additional colours.
I have white doors and skirting etc, woody floors, and carpet (which is grey but being replaced) and grey walls.
An idea... Pale aquamarine on walls (I already have in my office, its nice) and spindles and marine blue for the bold..

Or mid azure for the bold

I also like adventure:

But not sure it would work well with the sort of pale turquoise/duck egg type vibe we usually go for on walls...
May try wrapping some coloured sfuff around the newel Post lol0
