Received parking fine although I purchased ticket @ Glass Mill SE13

Hi, wonder if you can help me. I have received a fine for parking at the Glass Mill Leisure Centre car park on Saturday 16th Oct. Parking was £3 for the whole day which I paid. Unfortunately the machine was very temperamental and would not accept payment by debit card so I had to pay cash. We usually keep our tickets but for some reason, I don't seem to have this one which is quite annoying as we have now received a fine. I have appealed as know I purchased a ticket for certain and in the claim to Gemini I stated that perhaps I input a digit incorrectly. They have rejected my appeal. I was there attending a swimming gala and it turns out that there are at least 7 other families from our swimming club alone that also received fines that day. Two have appealed and they have been upheld, the others have been rejected. One even has the original ticket and they have rejected pretty much saying she took too long to buy the ticket (even though it was purchased straight after parking/queueing at the machine). Reading reviews online it appears this is a regular thing at this car park. I have tried calling the leisure centre to report to them but have been unable to get through so far. Gemini state I can appeal via POPLA which I intend to do but just wondered if we are likely to win or whether we are wasting our time? Thank you.
