If you are not a UK citizen, then presumably you are entitled to state healthcare in your native country - therefore  reciprocal care arrangements are not relevant if/when you are there ?

    You can be dual citizen
In which case you would be entitled to the state healthcare of either country (if there is one) when visiting - and any reiprocal agreements would be irrelevant ?

Not quite correct but the point is mute anyway.

Its the same point I was making the journey is relatively low risk for the person (me) who is bumping up the premium.
  • Low risk is not the same as no risk.
Incidentally, out of curiosity, which part of the dual citizenship scenario is "not quite correct" in my presumption.

  • It's really important to declare all medical conditions as nearly all insurance policies will void without you declaring them. Some providers are likely to charge more than others when it comes to medical conditions.

I'd go with Aviva, always been great when it comes to medical conditions and don't charge that much extra (depending on your medical condition specifics) and seemed to ask for more detail compared to other providers (which in return, might allow you to enter that it doesn't affect you as much and thus, the premium might be lower).
  • Just for information, I've had to add a medical condition to my Staysure worldwide annual insurance.  I had viral labyrinthitis last September and a friend said I should have declared it in the event of it recurring.

I wasn't charged an administration fee, or additional charge, and received my updated policy by email a short while afterwards.

I normally use AllClear, they've got good prices for existing medical conditions (although I've never had to reclaim).
