Has anyone heard of this company Intueco?

Hi, I had a gentleman knock my door yesterday, as a rep. from a company called Intueco, basically giving information to get free insulation, solar panels and boilers with a grant.

I have been looking for a grant for a new boiler for the last couple of years and each time get told I don't qualify, because my dad owns the house (but he doesn't live in the UK) and I live in it rent free and claim disability benefits but still don't qualify because i'm not the home-owner or private renting and my dad doesn't live here.

I will be speaking to dad on Sunday for his opinion and said I would let the gentleman know on Monday.

As much as I need a new boiler I also don't want to be ripped off etc., but I've never heard of this company before and looking to see if anyone else has and has any experience of them?

I have attached images of the leaflet he left with me

  • Last year they were called Eco Home Experts ltd. Don’t know anything about them though.

All I can find about 'ECO4Scheme' (seemingly a genuine gov scheme) is that it only covers electrical heating and insulation, and not gas.

That's all I can find, but others might have more success.

I'd hope there would be an approved list of installers - worth contacting E4S? And if this co is not on it, contact Trading Standards .

Had a look at this for a neighbour. Scheme is EC04 - good piece here which covers eligibility -  https://energysavinggenie.co.uk/changes-to-eco-what-you-need-to-know-about-eco4/

Does cover gas boilers, replaced previous government initiatives though this time around much less chance of getting a replacement boiler, as per the flyer it's first come, first serve on a limited supply.

Also I think the eligibility criteria remains the same in respect of being a homeowner or renter.

There are Home Upgrade Grants and Local Authority Delivery schemes ( https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/find-energy-grants-for-you-home-help-to-heat ) available if you qualify - Most of the funding is aimed at EPC E-G rated properties with a household income of less than £30K and/or on benefits.
In my area, HUG/LAD funding is being handled by a third party organisation, so with another snout in the trough, there isn't going to be much money left to deliver worthwhile changes. Depending on which area you are in, you may be luckier.

And yes, the ECO4 scheme is genuine. It is funded by the energy suppliers by the standing charges that you pay for your gas & electricity. Depending on circumstances, you may be able to get replacement gas boiler if your old one is really inefficient and the property has an E-G EPC rating and you are on qualifying benefits.
Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.
  • Anyone dealt with this company?
My neighbour has applied and their surveyor as called on me to apply too to replace my very old boiler.
I can't find them on such as Trust Pilot.

I've concluded there is in theory such a scheme but installers or energy provider aren't interested in operating it.

Intueco is registered at Companies House with 2 people.
It was previously registered as ECO HOME EXPERTS LTD from Feb 21 - Apr 22 with the company name change to Intueco less than a year
operating from Charlotte House Stanier Way, Wyvern Business Park, Derby. Charlotte house are offices for various businesses. There is no sign outside for either of the above names.
They have a website (who doesn't) under intuECO
The claim is that they operate with Trustmark installers. It would seem to be a government operated scheme for which you apply and you are inspected. A lot of terminology and links on the page to really understand what this implies.

Scam or not (but if it walks like a duck....) you still wouldn't qualify because the leaflet does specify that the scheme is only open to HOME OWNERS in receipt of certain benefits.
