Sealed Pot Challenge ~ 16

Hi all

Got some more Xmas bits last night but leaving gift cards till last (although it will be before payday); mainly so that the recipients have as long as possible to spend them.  Still got to get something for DH and Mum, but other than that I'm done.

Checked my Plum account and that is already back up to £93.42 this month, and once Xmas is out of the way I'm going to 'hide' my Chase savings account so I'm not seeing it and tempted by it.  I think that's why Plum works so well, as I don't look at it on a regular basis.  At present I can see both my Chase accounts but there is an option to hide them so that seems like a good idea.

Potted some travel savings today.Managed a full month of the penny challenge using random amounts. Hoping to maintain the penny challenge  for the duration of the Sealed Pot challenge.

I still a had a hiccup with the Nos Post (the 2nd post in) last night and had to scroll right to the bottom of the laptop, so to speak, to save it. I thought "oh no, here we go again", but thank goodness it was ok in the end.

Hi RavenRover. I see Keedie has answered you by some means, that you haven't been with MSE long enough to be able to use the signature. This has been the case, for some reason or other, during the last couple of years. Of course a lot depends on how many posts you have made, so check to see every month or so to see if you're able, and fingers crossed it'll be soon!

Very well done with the £5 saved!!

£25 transferred to the SPC account, especially now T's torn a ligament in his ankle/leg. It's still the easier way for me to 'pot' so I'll carry on doing so too.

I had no idea that there was a restriction on eligibility to create a signature, I guess you learn something new every day... 

I've been saving my £5 notes, £2 coins and 50p coins @Sue-UU, and so if I have not had to spend them by the end of the week, I pot them, along with any spare change. It seems to be working so far.

I am on my SPC 15 paid for short break. I have picked up 4p roadkill today. One 2p and two separate pennies. I also had a number of pound coins to pot but the local seagulls decided they wanted to ‘decorate’ my coat so a trip to the coin operated launderette was required. Never mind, the 4 pence is ready to go in the pot along with a pound coin or two

Can't believe a shop assistant gave me £10 in £2 coins.  Well they went into the pot.  You would think that she knew I was on a savings challenge :-D

It only came to my mind, Keedie, when one of the members said they weren't able to put their Nos on last year, then she noticed it was due to the time she'd been on MSE, the point of it all though??! 😵‍💫

You're means of saving is the best way, keep it up as long as you're able as, you'll certainly benefit.

So good to know you're on the break you pretty much saved for over SPC 15, Ant. Enjoy yourselves, though depending where you are it could perhaps be lovely and warm, or if you stayed in the UK, blooming cold!! 😰
