Anyone else use EDF without a smart meter and am I missing something?

Yes, I do and yes you are
Work it out yourself. I could tell you in about 5 minutes what my gas cost has been since the last bill, it ain't rocket science as they say.
edit: £77.29, there you go. And that included reading my meter, downloading the CV values from NG and working out the average and calculating the bill.

Hi. I look after three accounts with EDF, they got moved there when ZOG Energy closed. I have been getting bombarded with text messages and emails from EDF telling me to get smart gas meters installed. I was tired of it so agreed. I really don't see the point as like you said they only want two readings each year. I just want them off my back.0

I ask Chat for a bill every couple of months.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
Ironically enough when we were with them for our gas only barely a couple of days passed without me getting either a text or an email from them badgering me about having a smart meter fitted. It wouldn't have done them much good mind - the electricity meter isn't Smart yet...🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

The opposite of the posts that we have been seeing recently with people saying "why is my supplier billing me monthly now and not quarterly, I don't want to pay so often as that!"0

If you just want to know a very broad amount of you what you are using just read the meter and deduct the last reading. Multiply this with £1.2 (11.2 * 10.3p = £1.1639) and you know what you used since the last reading.
This is assuming you have a m3 gas meter. (check the meter if there is a m3 or a ft3 label on the meter).

Yes I have EDF as my supplier for 2 properties, one of which is Dual Fuel and the other is Economy 7. Neither property has smart meters.Billing is every six months and I work out costs each month in a simple spreadsheet to ensure monthly DD's are on track.I have no desire to have smart meters installed and will only consider changing that view if I see a tangible financial benefit for myself.0
