So my wife and I left the same employer in July where we had correct tax codes
We got a P45 each and passed them to our new employer
Her on 1275L me on 294l

Many employers now ignore P45 and use "New Starter Checklist" instead:

Did either or both of you do this form?
Looks like you should have both ticked "Box B" but actually ticked "Box A" (her on 1275L) and "Box C" (me on 294l)

If you are paid monthly payroll is likely already being or has been run so there is a fair chance you will not get it sorted this month.  It is not the employer's fault.  If it has been more than just the last pay with this code then maybe you should look in the mirror, it is the individual's responsibility to ensure their tax affairs are correct.

My husband's company payroll was run on 15th of the month for payment on 30th.
  • After 5 hours on the phone we both have the correct tax codes. theres no reason why we shouldnt have them on our payslips next payday

I heard a room full of monkeys, each with a typewriter would eventually type out one of Shakespears works (dont ask me which))

Perhaps the monkeys could spell Shakespeare
