So, nifty November;
N - this will be a challenge, looks like I have 2 house guests here for a few days in November which are going to make things tricky. Cannot say no (they are 10 and 11 and there really isn't anywhere else they can go) but I will be better at establishing the ground rules.
I - last year was the first year I did not feel like celebrating Christmas at all, which is completely unlike me. We have had to prioritise different things this year and although it will be a simpler celebration i am keen to show my dc that it is the small, simple things that make a day/event/season special.
F - payday is on the 19th and I am hoping to clear one debt in full. Managed to pay an extra £59 off in October so there is £200 to go and I will be one debt down. This is going to be paid on the 19th so it will be a tight month but I have a lot of Christmas organised and paod for already.
T - I am super organised with events, but am shocking at meal planning and am going to focus on that this month because it would help with the food costs. I am going to do a stock check tomorrow when ds is napping.
Y - I need to take better care of myself especially as I start my marathon training in the morning. I have been researching recommended nutrition and have found a marathon training plan which seems realistic.
N - I didn't even think of this until you mentioned it @grandmanerd so thank you, I have had a light delivered that will attach to my top and I will be visible to car users for when i run.
O - we normally donate a bag of groceries at the beginning of December so will do that and also do a bag in January too. I read on my local news that Dun€lm have a campaign for gifts at Xmas... hand written tags in store with requests from local children e.g. teddy bear and you can take the tag, buy the present and then return to the shop with tag and present for the person, so am going to check that out.
V - always mindful of this. It isn't always a season of fun for everyone.
E - I have 3x mini teddies to finish making (for my 3 dc) and thatvis my lot my lot year. Probably 4 hours work.
M - lots of lists here! Gradually getting through them.
B - will also focus on this.
E - will do!
R - this might be tricky but will do my best!

Morning! Just back from my first training run, was good. Run walk run was doable and I clocked up 3.1km so pleased with that. Blooming cold and dark though, my new light worked fine and it was very quiet out.
Going to drop off stuff to the charity shop today, possibly fit in a trip to the recycling centre and declutter and organise some more loft stuff with 1 toddler helper in tow. Hope you all have a lovely day.
Grateful for comfy trainers and clothes, no rain (not looking forward to those runs), snippet of peace before the chaos of 3 dc in the morning (although they looked very sweet fast asleep when I looked in on them before my run).2024 decluttering Campaign

Morning!
Happy 1st November! Big month for us. Just one more pay day to clear the CC and be debt free by xmas! Laser focus required!
N NO GUILT. This will be the hardest thing ever for me. Will do my very best though!
I IDEAL. Luckily I worked this out a while ago and I'm getting much better at setting and sticking to boundaries.
F FIRST pay off some debt or add to your savings, live on what is left. Cleared £1010.92 from cc this am! Felt very good. Over £2k to go for the end of the year goal to be met though. Its going to be very, very tough but we will do it!
T THINK AHEAD Grocery challenge set for £580. Didn't make it last month but determined to this month and really need change to throw at the CC too!
Y YOUR HEALTH Sticking with adding in quantities of fruit and veg rather than restricting which doesn't work for me.
N NOW All good on this front
O OTHERS Will start buying extra for the food boxes that school collect
V Have the VISION to understand that other people choose to celebrate in different ways, or not at all. Yep, I'm always relaxed about this stuff
E EVALUATE Limited time prevents making presents, but I have set a strict budget for xmas presents which is a third of my usual spend.
M MAKE A LIST Mostly xmas involves gifting money these days as kids in the family are all older. only need to do stockings for my 2.
B BASICS Lots of cleaning done last week on leave, freezer full but will be run down over next few weeks.
E EVERY DAY grateful for these forums to keep me focused, grateful for meeting up with a friend last night, grateful to wfh this week and save on petrol!
R Read Rest Relax Recharge - yep, this one needs some work already!
Have a lovely day all!

Wow @DrCarrie , everything crossed for you being debt free for December!@Dfw38 one debt down is great motivation.@hazeldreams that is a big goal, you can do it!Well, this morning at 6am I walked down to the cash machine took out £60 for weekly bus passes, and my boys are no longer getting a lift with me. Time to learn independence. I am not chasing them around the house finding their stuff for them anymore.Stockholm syndrome is over in this house. Will set out my stall later, when I know what the flip I am doing. Currently I am close to worrying myself into immobility, so will go and have a bath, cos you can do that sitting down

Please count me in @grandmanerd. Need to aim for more NSDs this month. With being away at hospital last month & the weekend with my brother, then DH's transplant, things got a bit out of control. But, I am NOT feeling guilty about it!Use it up, wear it out

Good morning,
today shall be my first NSD, I will go to the gym again and will cook two batches of soup tonight. One will be the standard lentil soup that's my kids favourite and the other one will be a random veggie one with sad looking vegetables that lurk in the fridge and freezer like zucchini, turnip, leek, nasturiums from the garden, peas etc. Will look and see if I find a recipe or just try.
Ordered the kids' advent calendars yesterday. So far, every year I filled some homemade ones with little things and sweets but they've asked for a few years now if they can have a L3go one and a horsey one. So I found them early this year, on a good deal and through a cash back side. Plus it'll come out of their Christmas budget. We also do Saint Nicolaus on the 6th, which in recent years included small gifts but this year we'll go traditional with sweets, fruit, or coal if naughty.
Off to a trade fair at work, we'll see if they have any decent freebies.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/2510
