thriftylass said:Then DH dropped the bomb shell that his cousin and partner will pop in this afternoon. Haven't had guests in ages, so brain goes into grumpy panic mode - need to clean, can't be bothered, don't want people to see my dirty bathroom
He had socks he'd left in the shoe cupboard for 2 weeks!
The downstairs loo seat broke last night, I had a guy popping over this evening to buy a baby scorpion and I had to clean the bathroom upstairs 'just in case' he asked to use the loo. He was here for 5 mins lol.

Another NSD 😊
Happy birthday to @grandmanerd's right hip. Today is the 1st month birthday of DH's kidney 🎂🎉
@ditty1234 how scary for DS2, so glad he had someone to talk to afterwards. Well done on DS1's uni place 🎉🎉
Went for a 3 mile walk with DH after breakfast (did exercises before eating too). Ironing pile worked through, then tackled my bedroom. Well started it, it's a mammoth job. Sorted through my jumpers & bedding & pulled the bag of December jumpers & t-shirts to the front of my wardrobe, then shoes. Some bits are a lot clearer, but others still need working on. Listed some things on local selling page. Filing done, & bag sorted ready for returning to work tomorrow 🤯 will be a shock to the system! Washed the dishes, neatly my turn for the bath, have my book ready 😃
Grateful for my bed being cleared from the mountain piled on it, walking a bit further with DH, his kidney birthday, the colours of toadstools spotted on our walkUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

Not sure how much brandy you're consuming, DrCarrie, but do take care of yourself xToday I am grateful for a relaxing day, for dc enjoying their activities, for going for a little run, for cooking multiple portions, for the Icelandic strongmen on utube, for the opportunity to earn som extra pennies tomorrow.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!9

Busy day, some progress (some ideas for ways forward), just done a quick declutter after an accidental spill (threw a part used notebook away with barely a second glance, rescuing it was just too much effort. Grateful for hand cream, tinned soup (needed to warm up after taking things to the bin between downpours) leftovers (one of DS3's tiny pizzas - the shop makes their garlic bread like mini pizzas). Grateful for being ill - felt vaguely unwell most of the day but didn't know if I was just not in the mood. I'm definitely not well - see if it's a one off or if there are more incidents will cancel tomorrow's jab.6

@grandmanerd. Hope you are ok & can get your jab.

Evening turtles, here’s my update for today.
Went to the big blue & yellow furniture/home wares store. Bought bedroom furniture from our house pot. It’s not exactly what we’re looking for but been looking for 3 years!! It was cheap enough to do us for now & sell if we find something better in the future. We got 2 chest of drawers for the same price we’d budgeted for 1. Also bought a duvet set, pillowcases, storage bags, photo frame and glasses. So tomorrow things will have to go to make room (our rule is if we buy something new , something has to go). This helps us stop adding to clutter.
Busy week ahead with footy, haircuts, more carpet fitting, school stuff & work. All on the family planner & will take a day at a time and plan for the next day the evening before.
Healthy food wise today and decent step count. Did finish wine leftover from yesterday so not alcohol free.
DH drove in terrible conditions on the motorway today. Frightened me how many cars didn’t have lights working or on 😞. We travelled in his campervan instead of my mini. Glad we did felt safer on the motorway.
More of ds games sorted and ready for eBay or charity. Glad DS is agreeing to part with things. Some of the storage bags we bought today will be used to store a lot of his soft toys as he has far too many. He won’t let them go but has agreed for them to go into the loft.
I am claiming an NSD today so now 8/15. Although we spent today it was from a separate pot to my finances so I don’t count it in what I’m trying to achieve for my personal finances. Hope that makes sense and ok?
Grateful for DH being a sensible and competent driver, reasonable priced items for our home and ds putting up with a disorganised house whilst we wait for his bedroom carpet to be fitted on Tuesday.
Zapped the receipt for zipzer0, made a to do list for tomorrow.

I managed to snag a couple of vaccines off a man in a van in Herr Lid - L carpark. I wanted DH to get one as he was so I'll both times he has had the 'vid, but GP said no. The van people wanted to stab people, we were people, the Vax was out of the fridge and they were not busy. School teachers are eligible, university teachers are not. ????. Oh well, at least it is done. Sadly the Vax wiped him out 😔.
The moral of the story is, keep asking until you find the person who wants to help.
Right, off to chase kids around the house. Happy Shiny New Week Day!!4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

@thriftylass I'm up for the challenge! Can you repost the link though because I've just skim read about 30 posts as I didn't post yesterday and now I can't find it! Also, I'll have to start this weekend, as week days are out for me as work is just mental!
Updates for the last few days;
- 10/21 AFDs, didn't manage to stay AF this weekend, really wish I had
- Very spendy weekend - only on 4 NSDs still which is terrible. Got to focus on these now as the bank account is looking very anaemic
- Managed my combat class on Saturday. Felt so much better for it. Going tonight too.
- Wrote out my values again and started refining my goals. The way things are at work, I may have to start stockpiling cash rather than paying off the mortgage as planned next year.
- Still on track to clear CC in December
Happy Monday all!£1589.94 cc - DFD 31/12/22; £156,737.24 mortgage free target date 1/10/2026; £158,327.18 Total; Starting debt Jan 2019 £393,068; 60% cleared.9 -

He was here for 5 mins lol.Different standards are an issue too. I'll say the house needs a deep clean and his reply is "looks alright". It's like the "we don't have food in the house"...
Today starts my 30 day house cleaning challenge as I have let it slip and need to get back into a routine after a deep clean.
@hazeldreams this is it https://temeculablogs.com/clean-house-checklist/. I'm kind of mix and matching a bit and just using the lists as a prompts as not to forget certain areas.
As is it Monday and I just had to walk 4 mi in the freezing cold to work (long story, but wasn't planned) I'll go easy today. I'll sort my "tupperware" tonight and the under sink kitchen cupboard as they get used daily and annoy me. So a lot of joy to be gained from doing that first.
