PayPal is free for "friends and family" payments. So as long as they aren't buying something from you, then there is no cost.
However PayPal want your real name and I believe the person paying get told it. You can open a business PayPal account. While you have to tell them your name, you can also set a business name. I believe the senders will get told the business name.
I'm not sure what happens if they send the payment as a purchase, other than of course you'll get stung for PayPal's extortionate fees. They might get told your address, especially if they request a refund0 -
