Brewerygate Parking Charge - first correspondence

Hello all, received a charge having been told from the shop I attended 'it's free to park over the road, just type your registration number in here'. I did so, turns out they didn't state it wasn't THAT car park but THIS car park. Terrible, inaccurate instructions resulted in the charge. Especially as I had been in a free space up until moving it, albeit a bit further.
So I'm ok with the process, having done it before and still involved in one that's nearly at court stage, but with this one I'm a bit confused as to whether I should reply to this charge without my name and address. I've just put the parking charge number on the letter I am going to send to appeal. They sent the charge to an old address of mine, to which I no longer have the vehicle registered. But in their appeals process they ask you to provide name and address if you want to appeal.
Is it ok to not give my name and address?
I'm just using the term 'the driver' for all sentences.
Thanks

Is it ok to not give my name and address? No. Not only is that pointless because it won't be treated as a valid appeal, but:
You MUST absolutely correct the address and in fact, tell the PPC to remove the old address (erase the data). The only thing to really be concerned about with any PPC is if they hold an old address. ALWAYS get that erased, otherwise you stand in danger of learning (too late) about a court claim in a couple of years' time, and that is how people get CCJs.You mean you just corrected it with the DVLA now? The vehicle must have been registered to the old address when they applied to the DVLA.
They sent the charge to an old address of mine, to which I no longer have the vehicle registered.
Which PPC?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Which PPC?
Great, glad I asked, I'll amend the letter now.
I have updated my details with DVLA almost a year ago, so it's something at their end. Will have to get on to the DVLA about it.
I thought maybe it would have gone in my favour if they sent to the wrong address but never mind.
The only PPC info I have is the letter from Breweygate
Cheers

No, which parking firm?
Updating your driving licence address is not enough. You can check your V5C for the last time the address was changed and what address it states. Must be still showing the old address? Please check your logbook. You don't have to ask the DVLA about it.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

To help with that...
Look at the vehicle's Registration Document (V5c).
Look for the Doc Ref number. There is a date following it.
On my V5c it's at the bottom of the second page in a box headed "Official use only. Do not write in this space".
The first line format is an eleven digit Document Reference Number followed by a dd mm yy date.
That is the date that your V5c was last updated.

How do I know the parking firm? All I've got is a letter from Brewerygate limited. Nowhere throughout the letter is there another name ie for parking firm. It says the site is Brewerygate and it's also 'from' Brewerygate. If I want to appeal its also on Brewerygates website, and same as if I want to email.Coupon-mad said:No, which parking firm?

And check that logbook...Said I'd post that notice...Incidentally I thought I'd just pay it, having had loads of bother with these this past year, but the site doesn't even let you pay when you enter your details. A surefire way of getting your fine increased eh?Took a screenshot of the 'sorry, we cant do this right now' page as I may as well appeal since I can't actually pay0
