  • Thanks for the replies. It’s been 17 days and still no card. Which option on the phone no. do I try if I have time to wait to get through?

My card finally arrived today, whilst only 15 days from application, it is much much slower than all the other banks I’ve ever dealt with - most seem to be able to get a card out in a couple of days. Anyway, all good now
  • I waited 51 mins to get an operator who agreed even though my application pack was sent by 2nd class Royal Mail it was overdue after 18 days and would send out a new one by same service. Apparently if I receive this, I then have to sign the application and return it before I get the new card and balance transfer happens. Not holding up much hope of getting this sorted by 2023 ☹️
  • Got my card and made a transfer from MBNA. Was just checking via app and I see that I have been charged a 1% balance transfer fee, even if the card I got is 0 fee and 0 interest for 14 months. The T&C's in the letter with the card say the same.

Will call tomorrow to get it corrected but has anyone else experienced something similar?

Sainsbury's offer has 3 options - 22 months 0 fee / 14 months 0 fee / 14 months 1% fee - if you were charged a 1% fee then you didn't get the 0 fee. Check your paperwork, either you assumed you had the 0 fee but got the 1% fee version or they made a mistake but the paperwork would confirm that.

Longest no-fee card that's open to all, though some won't get the headline deal. If you're showing as 'pre-approved' in our eligibility calculator you'll get the full 22 interest-free months and pay no transfer fee, otherwise you could be accepted and offered just 14 months at 0% and/or have to pay a 1% fee.

  • Yes, phoned them and they confirmed on the phone the 0% interest and 1% fee. However, I am 100% certain that it was 14 months at both terms 0% but the letter they send with the card only confirms the promotional interest rate terms. The T&C's you get are the general ones and not account specific. Haven't taken a picture of the laptop screen with the rates showing so no proof but phoned MBNA and they revoke the transaction and bring the funds back. That way I should get the fees refunded by Sainsbury and will either leave the card dormant or close it down after. On a side note, Sainsbury phone waiting time on Sunday around lunch time 1 hour and MBNA I got through immediately, no waiting.
  • While still waiting for my second Sainsbury CC application pack, got a letter today asking why I hadn’t sent back my first application. They are absolutely hopeless 😡
