Sainsbury balance transfer

Options
I applied and apparently got accepted for the 34 months balance transfer onto a Sainsbury credit card account. I asked for transfers from 3 other cards. I was told the transfer would happen until the new card was activated. Still waiting for the card after two weeks- is this usual? Is there a way I can check the progress of my application?

  • You can ring up Sainsbury's and ask

If the account was approved though it should already be in the app where you may be able to activate the card
  • Hi, anybody got a number I can try for Sainsbury?

I’m having a similar delay in a Sainsbury 0% purchase card - applied 12 October, finally got pin at the weekend. Still no sign of the card though - I’m putting some of this down to Royal Mail strikes, but also with MSE mentioning stoozing again I think perhaps Sainsburys have been overwhelmed by applications?

I have a Sainsbury's credit card and have always been able to get through fairly quickly.

I applied to Sainsburys on the 26th Sept. I got the PIN around a week later, and the card itself on 6 Oct 2022 (I had a balance transfer I needed to do by the 5th so I was watching the dates). I activated on the 6th by phone which automatically triggers the BT, assuming you entered the details in the application process.
  • I've got 22 months on the 0% fee card which arrived yesterday. I've tried doing two balance transfers from two different cards and each time it has failed; one was a Santander card, the other an Amex - neither transfer would take me anywhere near my credit limit. Is anyone else struggling to do a transfer online?
I tried phoning them yesterday afternoon but after 20 mins of hold music I had to abort the call.

Have you activated the card either by app / website?

Currently waiting to speak to somebody at Sainsbury, already waiting 40 min.... Santander was much quicker earlier, even though they annoyed me a lot.

Edit: Got through after 57 minutes. They claim huge issues due to Royal Mail strike and said card was posted a week ago
  • There is probably a backlog in mail being delivered due to the unnecessary strike action on behalf of the Royal Mail.
