Fine for a car I no longer own

Hi all,
I recently received a parking ticket (Parkingeye) for a car that I sold over two years ago. I live in Shropshire and the current owner lives in Cornwall where the "offence" took place. I appealed to Parkingeye stating that I am not the owner of the vehicle etc and wrote to the DVLA with the date I sold the car and asking for proof of the current owner and they replied acknowledging the date we sold the car but not informing us of who the owner is. The person I sold the car to is also not responding to me so I cannot ask if they have a v5 in their name.
Parkingeye are now threatening me with a county court claim.
I am left in the position of not knowing whether I am still the legal owner of the car and what to do about Parkingeye.
Any help would be appreciated.

I thought when you sold a car you notified the DVLA?
Tell DVLA you've sold, transferred or bought a vehicle - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
Assuming you've done this then it seems odd for ParkingEye to have the incorrect details but I guess the DVLA have messed up... not sure how you get this sorted... I'm sure somoene else here will know where to go next.1 -
As it happens, I am in Shropshire too ! I think the point I would focus in on is whether YOU informed DVLA of the transfer of vehicle, and if so WHEN?
It seems to me that if you clearly informed them before the PPC invoice was written it would be fairly straightforward. If not, it could be different, but see what the experts say when they arrive. The pen is mightier than the sword ..... and I have many pens.2 -
Parkingeye are now threatening me with a county court claim.Just reply to:
enforcement@parkingeye.co.uk
...attaching your reply from the DVLA and (if you know it) the name and address in Cornwall of the person you sold the vehicle to.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
