Can anyone advise me for a cheapish power bank for a non techy to use that will keep my modem going during the possible 3 hour power cuts this winter?
I run a small business from home and need my laptop my old iphone/ MacBook / iPad 6 don't have a hotspot function.
I have a virgin super hub 3.0 12v - virgin say the wattage is 12-15. Thank you for your help!

You could get a UPS or one of the new 240V power banks. But be prepared to dig deep into your pocket.Life in the slow lane1

Virgin street cabinets require power too, and they likely won't have much or any battery backup, so I don't think you can rely on the other end of the cable being powered.
Mobile phone infrastructure has much better backup power supply for at least a few hours, so if you really need it, you need to be focusing on having a mobile tethering option instead.3 -

No you just need to install a SIM in your mobile phone from a provider that allows tethering (aka hotspot). Some mobile providers allow you to tether 100% of your data allowance.ohgawd said:
