Compensation due to crew availability

Hi all,
My flight from Aberdeen to London was delayed for over 6 hours due to crew availability. The explanation at the time was that the 'crew were delayed in getting to Aberdeen due to bad weather'.
As I understand it, bad weather would typically negate a claim for compensation, however is there an exception when crew availability is impacted by weather rather than the flight itself.
Maybe someone has an experience to share or someone has more knowledge of the compensation conditions. Thanks in advance.

Generally, weather is only an EC where it affects the flight concerned. It didn't affect your flight directly.Valid claim for compensation IMHO.If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide
