Gutter downspouts leaking water in heavy rain.

Hello, when raining heavy my gutters leak from the bottom where it joins the drains. This leads into a soakaway. It ends up pooling an inch or so at the rear of my home. Wondering how can I access this area to check the drain. Wish to try help myself before getting a firm who I imagine will suggest to replace the soakaway. No idea how to remove the square down pipe from the larger round drain pipe. Appreciate any help.

A photo of the complete d/p should suggest what needs undoing in order to remove it. If it doglegs at the top, for example, it 'may' be possible to ease it apart up there, and then pull the d/p upwards. So, a pic, please.
You may then be very lucky to find the gulley under that cover is full of leaves and grit, so cleanable. But it may be that the whole soakaway is simply full of carp, and that's a bigger job.1 -
Thanks, appreciate that. I will take a picture and post in the morning.Bendy_House said:A photo of the complete d/p should suggest what needs undoing in order to remove it. It looks as though the downpipe isn't central, has shifted leaving an open gap at the cover.
Or is that just a shadow - how it's supposed to be - the same for all?I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Could it even be that the top cover there is a flexible rubber membrane, and has just slipped off the round adaptor which was going through, because it's off-centre? That would be cool
Phil, could you check that?1 -
They are offset like that. Gives a bit more flexibility with the position of the downpipe into the drain.1

Ah, the round collar is part of the gulley cover? :-(stuart45 said:They are offset like that. Gives a bit more flexibility with the position of the downpipe into the drain.1 -
It looks to me like a 68mm to 110mm adapter on top of a clay rest bend.
Then a square to round adapter. It's probably blocked in the bend. The downpipe needs taking off.2 -
Thanks all, here is the top pics as requested. Bendy_House said:
They are fixed off centre too but thanks for checking and asking.A photo of the complete d/p should suggest what needs undoing in order to remove it. If it doglegs at the top, for example, it 'may' be possible to ease it apart up there, and then pull the d/p upwards. So, a pic, please.

If you can take the wall bracket off, you can carefully try and lift the drainpipe out at the bottom. Should be a push fit.
Otherwise, disconnect at the top.2 -
If you've got a ladder, it might be worth unclipping the outlet and taking the downpipe off. You can then make sure it's well cleaned out as well.1
