Just comparing Octobers. (CH, HW and Gas Oven)

Last year in October we used 54m3 of gas. About 605kwh

This year in October we have used 28m3 of gas. About 313kwh

    A reduction of 48%

I'm not sure why, but our electricity consumption is also down 30% to 160kwh for the month. Perhaps just because we're naturally being more careful.

However, I was sat in T shirt and shorts Saturday when it was 22C here so it has been mild !

It's been very damp lately. I used the dehumidifier to get humidity to 65% this morning and then as it got 20C outside I opened all windows and the humidity rose to 76% undoing all the work dehumidifier had done. My plants are loving it, but I'm worried about the fabric of the house.

It was still 16.8C in the living room this morning.
We did exactly the same thing with almost exactly the same figures one day last week - frustrating!

Quite pleased to get my usage down over the last couple of years (sorry can't work out the gas kwh off top of my head!) although as others have said this warmer October helps.  Still used 12 gas units though this month, probably down to hot water and cooking hotter foods in the oven.  Still quite eye watering though paying £71.49 for 173 units of electricity and £45.84 for 12 units of gas.

To put in some perspective, start of November 2020 I paid £45.75 for 275 kwh of electricity and £34.66 for 40 units of gas!   Not looking forward to the winter or April 23!!
