The app is awful. Doesn't even support biometric login.

I can put money in direct saver as I set up nominated a/c, and can now view it,s in with this app.
They always text m e each time I transfer money in, to my phone which I received my otcs from them , but won,t  go any further.
Problem. Our fault, not yours ! "

The other is the full app where you can see your transactions, bond records, prize history and add money - but as far as I can see you can't withdraw money. So it appears to be secure from the perspective that you can do anything you want with it except empty the funds.
I can't add any money. My PBs are maxed, so I don't know whether the app would let me buy more, and for the Direct Saver, they just give me the account  details for bank transfers. Not much use at all.
It says add money at the bottom of the app - and I’m in the same position as you, so not able to test it. When I click on it it tells me I’m at max investment. Does it only show the bank details for transfer rather than take the payment then I wonder?

I can also put money in my Direct Saver. But not via the app.

Can you share why you need to put money into the Direct Saver via the app, when there are so many accounts which
    1. are a lot more easy to operate
    2. pay a lot more interest than NS&I?
I have almost no problems withdrawing online but can't see how you could withdraw via the app. My withdrawals work as long as I don't withdraw to Starling Bank, even though I went through a longwinded verification of my Starling account.

For the Direct Saver, the app only shows the details to be used with a bank transfer. Deposits by debit card are only possible online, and they definitely don't support newfangled stuff like deposits via Open Banking.

I have not been able to operate my ns&i account online for at least 3 years now - I can log on but every time I try and do anything it says 'error for security reasons we have logged you out you have pressed the back button on your browser' - which obviously I haven't

I did complain to them and the complaint was close with a £50  payment and a solution of clearing cookies. Sigh - they are useless.
