Just out of interest, how much is left in the estate once the grandchildren etc have been given their £2k each?0

I was presuming the sister had taken things for safekeeping, but as you say if they’ve already been gifted then that’s different.It’s not unusual for jewelry to go down the female side of the family.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

As for the album and the jewellery they are sentimental value only. This certainly isn't a greed or money issue as the only things in dispute are the album and some trinkets of jewellery. My husband doesn't even mind the extra 2 great grandchildren getting a £2,000 gift as long as the other things are distributed evenly and the costs of having the album are also equally divided - whether this is between 3 of the siblings if the other brother doesn't agree - I wouldn't blame him.
