Registering my domain for 10 years no longer an option.

My domain is up for renewal soon but the company I have used for many years no longer seem to offer
a 10 year option. (Easily)
A quick email querying the renewal had me wondering if they actually read my email. Instructions in the email were all wrong
so it makes me wonder if they know their website/invoice looks different on a mobile device.
Goto account manager on the right, err no its a list on the left but OK... Where is the option to extend for more than
1 year. No response to that question.
I need to contact them again to find out how to renew my domain for 10 years (.co.uk).
Any suggestions on who to transfer it to if they no longer offer that option? I have hosting elsewhere (50webs) which I use for the
a 10 year option. (Easily)

Why do you NEED a 10 year renewal? I have mine in auto renewal every year or two years (depending on which domain)1

Many domain name registrars will typically allow customers will register domains for one to three years. There is no obligation to offer anything beside the default two year period. If you don't want the downtime/unavailability, don't switch provider, as the timescale is typically up to 72hrs - this includes repointing and the whole waiting for the new DNS entry to populate across the internet. Which takes time.0

I don't NEED to buy 10 years but as this is MSE I don't want to pay single year renewal prices. Considering the last time Iregistered the domain for 10 years it was less than £5 per year. Looking at some discounts for buying 2 years over 1 there
appears to be discounts to be had but fewer seem to offer 10 year options on the websites.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Looking at 123-reg there is no discount for 10 year domains. They charge £11.99 per year and if I add 10 years worth it's £119.90. So aside from the 79p offer they have as a new customer, which works out to just over £9 a year, you're pretty much out of luck.Nominet changed the pricing structure a couple of years back, so they cost the providers £3.90 a year alone ex VAT. So as that's £4.68 a year just to buy wholesale, your requirement of less than £5 is pretty much impossible outside of special introductory deals. And here are the other costs in case you're wondering:

Thanks, had not seen the recent prices. Been almost 10 years since I last renewed so it was worth buying 10 years
at a time.
With inflation rising it maybe even more cost effective to renew for 10 years. Just keeping my options open just in case
the support don't answer my query properly. Reviews are rather mixed lately but I only had to contact them once regarding
my address being on the whois which they quickly removed.
Companies offer 1yr at 99p or similar and price for a 2 year deal which is about break even on the costs, guess their plan
is to hope you stay for much longer? I chose a random unused domain and put 10 years but it seemed to remove the first
year discount. I didn't go all through to the payment screen though, just getting a basic idea of costs.
Thanks.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Fasthosts / UKreg allow you to buy credits I believe which makes renewal cheaper. May be worth a look.PPI success. Banding success. Double Dip PCN cancelled! South facing solar (Midlands) and battery. Savings Session supporter (is it worth it now!?)0

Google are £10 per year for a non-premium domain and allows up to 10 years to be purchased at once.0

Fasthosts allows up to 9 years at £129.49 so £14.39 a year which is what it is for one year. So saves future inflation costs I guess as its unlikely to go down.0
