    Glad you got a result.;)
  • My partner has had the same problem with his LG Shine (provider T-Mobile.. contract phone).

He telephoned T-Mobile who advised that he should turn the phone on and off. He did this and it initially solved the problem. A few days later the same "hair" appeared again; later he lost most of the screen picture, rendering the phone useless. He telephoned T-Mobile who advised him to send the phone back to T-Mobile (they supplied a package to send the phone back in).

A week later, he received a quote from T-Mobile repair centre with an amount over £50. They claimed the phone had suffered physical damage.

My partner basically ended up on the telephone all day to T-Mobile requesting an exchange mobile or for them to take responsibility for the repair bill. They were and still are very reluctant to resolve the problem. T-Mobile have told the him to contact LG, which obviously he can't do till at least Monday.

He has been very calm about things. he requested canceling his contract, which they basically threatened to send him a bill for over £300 to cover the rest of his contract.

He is obviously going to contact LG. However, what can and what rights does he have if he gets no satisfaction?

that sounds like the flex cable (it links the 2 halfs of the phone together) is on its way out. it should cost a max of about £10-£15 to fix in an independent shop
  • Yeah T-Mobile were charging £15 to replace what was broken.. the other £30 or so pounds was labour charges (I think).
Main problem is: T-Mobile are saying it is physically damaged & the screen isn't under warranty blah blah. Also, once an independent repair has been carried out, the phone looses it's warranty altogether.
