ITVX seems to be a bit less glitchy than ITV Hub was but does seem to need to start from scratch every time I use it via the firestick ... I bought a £30ish Manhatten digibox from Asda a while back and works fine with the sky dish so tend to use that for the majority of my viewing.

We never had ITV hub, as by the time our Sky sub ended, they had launched X, so went straight to that.

I've since read some reviews of ITVX and they are not very complimentary.

It might be "fresh", but it's not great!!  ;)

We don't watch that much ITV, so not a great loss to avoid it.

Live stuff, we still use the Sky dish/box.
How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)

Re the catch up channels on "terrestrial " TV suppliers , my experience for what it's worth-
ITVX - variable performance, sometimes the ad breaks are just black screens, other times ,three or four ads ;generally returns at the right point in the programme however.
My5 - much as ITVX although the point at which they introduce the ad break is frequently annoying! eg in the middle of a conversation between characters.
All4 (or whatever it is called today!) - almost unwatcheable as it freezes during ad breaks and frequently requires a restart of the programme. You can't fast forward back to where you were without watching all the ads again !!
BBC I player - best of the bunch , mainly because of lack of adverts !!!
