Vanquis App

Anyway I digress from the OP’s comment…vanquis has worked fine for me, I hope that you get a fix soon if uninstalling and reinstalling hasn’t worked for you.Don’t forget to utilise whichever means necessary to ensure you pay your statement on time and don’t become a victim of missed payments because access to the app has become restricted like another member on here has.If you believe you can, you will. If you believe you can't, you won't.

I'm not about to let my choice of credit card dictate my choice of mobile phone.
Technology marches on, and banks are making their apps more and more sophisticated and secure to try and block the scammers and keep your money safe (Mostly as they are losing too much and having to pay out too many claims).
I had a feeling it was your phone that was the challenge rather than the app - and as it's now relatively old tech in terms of its operating system, and no longer being updated, I'm sure it won't be long before your new credit card stops working as well.
It would be better if the phone manufacturers could support their models with updates a little longer than they do, but I'm sure they'll say there are technical reasons in terms of processors and other gubbins inside the phone that mean that beyond a certain point, for financial management, they'll become a useless brick.
To be fair - I'd want to make sure my accounts were well protected to the best they could possibly be - so by not moving forward with the tech, you'll be exposing yourself to greater risk, but only you can decide whether you're happy to take that risk for any existing financial products that are compatible with your handset.
As long as you keep in mind that it's the phone rather than the app that's the issue - as each app stops working, at least you'll now have an understanding as to why.Apple provide security and patches for 6 years from launch, google at least on their own range of Pixel do guaranteed updates (as in new versions of Android with extra features) for 3 years and security for 5 while other manufacturers do their own thing. Even a savvy money saver who doesn't care to keep getting new phones only really needs to change every 4-6 years by which time anyway the battery will probably be screwed, potentially screen damaged etc. For most people, that is more than enough time to use their phone - an iPhone SE is £449 so someone with an iPhone 6S as mentioned in this thread has had 6 years to save up about £75 a year to get a model launched this year that will last them another 6 or so years. OP with the S7 could get a certified refurb S9 from Samsung for £249 or the S20 FE for £499 or various othes like the A13 or m13 for under £170Rest of your post I fully agree withI’m soon to retire my iPhone X as it’s on its last legs. I don’t change phones with every new model - but i do know when it’s time to upgrade, and for me that time is about to arrive. I always buy sim free rather than contract - and usually buy refurb directly from apple - so last years model with a new battery and outer shell with full apple warranty. I’ll be good to go for another few years before the next upgrade.0 -
I can't even open the app. A message says it won't work on my device and i can't log onto my online account because the password system has been replaced with a system that insists on sending a code to a phone number i no longer have. I assume they will sort it out if they want their money.0

@Southendormargate my original post was from October 2022, so is probably a different issue to whatever you are experiencing now.
For anyone wanting an update, I still have the S7 edge, and it is still supported by my new cashback credit card's app. I am going to have to change it next month though, as 3G is being switched off in my area. Still not going to spend £250 on a phone like someone suggested 2 years ago though!Save £12k in 2025 #33 £2531.77/£5000 (If this carries on I might have to up my target!)

Don't assume 'they' will sort it out - it sounds like you haven't updated your phone number with them if it's the wrong one on file - and it may be that your device is now too old (not necessarily physically old but technology old) to securely run their app. I'd recommend you get on the phone and update your personal details, and find out what the requirements are to run the app, and then compare them to your handset. If you do nothing, don't be surprised at some hefty charges if you miss a payment.
