We will get this debt down & the savings up

I used to enjoy a Sunday trip to the local shopping centre, mooching round buying "stuff". Then stopping for lunch and then more mooching then coffee before it shut at 4 and then back to the car park to pay an exorbitant parking fee. I wouldn't enjoy that anymore - I think I've never really got back into the swing of enjoying being in crowded places since covid restrictions.

I agree @Blackcats. I think covid really affected us, we hate going into crowded places now. If I have to go to supermarket even I get there early & in & out quickly. Our local C00p is ok as there's hardly ever anyone in there.Making the debt go down and savings go up

A good day of filling some savings pots as it was DH's pay day. All bank accounts checked against my budget book and pleased to say the HK budget is actually looking very good, considering it has to last until Feb 5th when the next 4week period starts. There is more than enough to last I think, which is very pleasing to see. Also there is plenty left in the petrol budget as well, due to me not going out much at the start of the month due to covid. DH has been using the car for work, as the weather hasn't really been good enough for his motor bike, but he has a separate petrol budget for that, and so used some of his to put petrol in car. So all looking good all round
Money saving things in the last couple of days have been that I haven't had the heating on so much as it seemed a lot milder. Also I am trialling doing more washing on 20c, so will see how that experiment goes.
Had to go to pick up some slippers that I had ordered for DH, ordered online to use TCB and had them delivered to local P*v3*rs in our nearby D**bb**s garden centre. Saved on postage and the garden centre is only 5 mins drive away. Had a nice wander round and noticed they had their seeds on 50% off, so purchased 3 packets of different carrot seeds, ready for the spring. I did look at the seed potatoes, but have no idea which are the best ones, so will research before buying any. No other bargains to be had, so no more money spent, apart from some fruit& veg which was accounted for in the HK budget and bought from the man who has a stall outside the GC.
Dinner tonight is a shepherds pie from last lot of batch cooking that I froze, already has carrots & swede in it, so will just do some broccoli to go with it. DH will complain as he says he hates broccoli...lol
So apart from that, just normal household chores and watching Jepardy...my guilty pleasure...lol
Have a nice evening everyone.Making the debt go down and savings go up

I only just found out our washer does a 20 deg wash the other day! I had previously thought the lowest was 30… apparently it also does a cold wash. I have googled the summer bulbs as mine arrived as well and, other then the Crocosmia which are hardy, we should wait until all risk of frost has passed before planting them out. So late February probably.Live the good life where you have been planted.

Afternoon diary readers. Realised I hadn't updated for a while. not much to report really. Tomorrow is DH's payday and also day to update mortgage details, so I'll do a big signature update tomorrow. Then Monday is start of my next 4 week budget period, so an even bigger update then.
So what money saving news??....
A few studies/surveys have been done. Although I am way off my target for this month. So hoping next month will be better.
Had to go for blood test at local hospital and managed free parking on the street outside. Not always possible with the stupid one way system and 2 Drs surgeries being right by the hospital.
Met a friend for coffee after and we decided to go to cafe at Mr M as its cheap. Only one member of staff trying to work the till and make the drinks. So we waited in queue for ages and got to till, she says do you want anything to eat? I say, only these cakes....and point to the tray. She inputs stuff into till and says £4.20 please. I was thinking how cheap and paid up. Got to table and looked at receipt to see she hadn't charged us for the cakes. My friend said not to worry about it as I had told her we had them and she should have paid more attention. Must admit I felt bad about it, but by this time the queue was even bigger. Do you think Karma will come and get me?
Needed a couple of bits in Mr M, noticed their £4.49 salmon was on offer at 3 pkts for £10 and extra 500 More points for each packet purchased. Bought 3 and half expected it to only add 1 lot of 500 points, but no, I got 1500 points, so was well pleased with that and the freezer now has salmon supplies for when I fancy some. Salmon is my one luxury food these days as its gone up in price so much. But this seemed a good bargain. Might see if I can get some more next time I am passing, not sure how often they change the offers. I haven't really shopped in there for a while.
Think that's about all for now, so off to do a quick check for any more surveys before thinking about starting dinner. Sausages tonight, to use up the last of a bag in the freezer. That reminds me I need to finalise my Mr S order for Friday delivery.
Have a good evening everyone

Nice bargain on the salmon, even without the points boost it was a good deal. I'm a big fan of salmon (in all guises) and hubby has just left for MrM's to do a bit of a shop so I'll drop him a text!
