We will get this debt down & the savings up

Morning all. Just an update before I start on my kitchen cupboard sorting. We have a tall cupboard that is a complete mess inside and I am determined to get all DH's c**p out of it and make it more user friendly for my use. His stuff can go in the shed...lol.... its that sort of cupboard. We have a corner cupboard under the sink and I am finding it harder to get to the stuff in there, so really need a complete sort out and swap round. Also I am starting to buy more things in bulk now to make cleaning stuff etc, so need more room for that.
Anyway, enough of my wittering.
Think I finally managed to get DH more on board with all things MSE. After his great TGTG bag the other day, yesterday he decided to pop to the local C00p on the way home from work. They were just reducing the already reduced stuff that I had looked at around lunch time and decided it was still to dear. He managed to find a lovely tiger loaf for 40p and 500g of blueberries for £1.50. Considering even A!d* blueberries are more expensive than that, it was a great bargain. Have washed and divided them up, some in the fridge to eat with cereal, some in freezer and 200g weighed out ready to make some blueberry & lemon muffins later. And I've even saved the large plastic tub so I can use it for seed covering in the spring.
Finally money is starting to approve on P/fc and yesterday was a very good day for studies on there. Need to have a good look at other sites this afternoon as well.
So must get on, washing has just finished. Wondering if there's much chance of it drying outside. Although its overcast it is vey windy already and no rain forecast yet. Mmm.....decisions....lol
Anyway folks, have a good Saturday.Making the debt go down and savings go up

We have a kitchen cupboard just like yours where Mr SA gradually started moving bits of tools in until it’s become more of a tool cupboard. Really annoying as we have a shed and an under stairs cupboard where they could go. You’ve spurred me on to get it sorted.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

Originally I said it was my cupboard for cleaning/gardening/recycling etc. Then DH said he wanted top shelf to keep his motorbike helmet, then bottom shelf to keep other bits.....its never ending. Noticed the other day ther was an extension lead in there now as well ..lolMaking the debt go down and savings go up

We have two bedrooms plus several cupboards and at the moment the conservatory full of stuff that belongs to my dh. I would love to be able to buy in bulk but with the lack of storage space its impossible except the little bit that goes in the freezer, even the fridge is small.

Just a bit of a catch up before I wash the dishes and indulge in my guilty pleasure that is Jepardy, with a cuppa and either knitting or my jigsaw puzzle for an hour. I'm finding I can manage 3 or 4 rows of knitting now, before my wrist starts to hurt again and get too stiff, so trying to finish DGS3's blanket, slowly. Bless him, he is very patient...lol
So what has been happening the last couple of days? Not so cold, so not having the heating on so much. Think it was @foxgloves & @EssexHebridean, had been talking about fingerless mittens on their diaries. I am definitely a fan of these, especially the long ones that come right over the wrist. I bought 3 pairs for £4.99, from the Big River site and they are great for indoors. I find since breaking my wrist, I do suffer more with the cold, so these are a great help.
Bank accounts all looking good and got quite a bit to cash out of P/fc later, so will be making some PADs and maybe a small mortgage OP as well, as looks like my OP pot is building nicely.
On Sunday we had a walk to the local C00p, just as the reduced items were put out, and snapped a couple of good bargains, a sourdough loaf for 40p and some wholemeal Pittas for 25p, now both in the freezer. So after DH's bargains on Friday night, we now have some good bread bargains in the freezer and I shouldn't need to buy any at all until at least the end of next week....unless of course there are more orange stickers to be had.
Hoping that DH will be back on his bike for work once this storm has passed over and I will have the car again, which means I can do a tour of all the supermarkets in 1 day looking for reduced offers. We have a Mr M, Mr T, Mr S, A**a & A!d* & L!d!, all within a 3 mile radius, so sometimes a nice way to spend a couple of hours, especially as I can walk to 3 of them, by just parking and leaving the car in the one car park....as long as I'm quick in & out....lol. Not done a reduced item tour for ages. Also I want to do a tour of the CS's in the next town. I could go on the bus with my free bus pass, but it is such a long drawn out ride for what is actually only a 10-15 min car ride away, but takes 45mins round the housing estates! Its just as quick to get on the bus into the city, which takes about the same amount of time as its a straight run. Can't remember the last time I went there, was definitely pre covid days. You can tell how much i hate shopping can't you? Although maybe a free bus trip to look at the CS's in the city might be a nice idea one day.
Anyway, I am waffling again. Off to do the dishes now and quickly peel some spuds for mash tonight. Not sure if I said, but the day I saved the spud peelings and made crisps in the air fryer. Very pleased with the results and something I will do again.
Have a good day everyone
Just edited to say made another OP to the mortgage, only £20, but its all adding up.

Definitely not a fan of shopping here either MaB - it makes me smile a bit now to think that "back in the day" we often used to visit the big shopping centre down by the river for weekend entertainment - I can't think of too much worse, these days!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

We were the same @EssexHebridean, we would go in every shop and buy so much stuff that we didn't need....all on CC's most of the time as well. I know I really need to do a shopping trip soon as I am desperate for some jeans & shoes, but I have been putting it off since last year, when I tried on about 40 pairs of jeans and couldn't find any to fit. Literally the only shops I enjoy these days are CSs and A!d*.Making the debt go down and savings go up
