Anyone found any bargain contracts that DON'T involve claiming for cashback?

It's for my girlfriend, and historically she's not been very good at claiming cashback, so she'd rather a deal that doesn't involve sending off your bills. One of these new automatic cashback ones where you don't need to send anything off would be OK though.

I know some networks actually give you the first X months half price and this comes off your bill, so that would be good too, or one where you get a free ps2/wii

so far the best she's found is £30 a month with no discounts, I'm sure you guys can dig up something better!

Any suggestions?

  • If it's a gift then the carphonewherehouse website is a good place to look. Also look at the networks website as with someones big day next week there should be some good deals to be had. Try and get her on the same network as you. I'm on Orange and i get magic numbers which means i can call my love for nought. I also get 700 cross mins with free landline mins 100 txts and every 6 months you can add another magic number(has to be an orange number). Please read the thread 'avoid mobile phone insurance' as this is an extra cost you may not need. if she will make all her calls from the mobile check out saynoto0870.com for numbers to call her bank etc using inclusive mins. You could see if your network do rec a friend and see what they say.
Orange also do some 2 month free stuff like video calling which you may or may not take advantage of with her and evening and weekend internet usage.
    end the tv tax

orange do dolphin £35 (500mins and unlimited texts) plus they give £180 credit depending on the phone she takes so it would work out to £25per month

Thanks guys, this is a great help! So far the vodaphone 6300 offer looks best as it works out at about £20 a month after quidco and credit. Actually, if any of the phones available on the orange deal are worth more than £60 more than the Nokia 6300, then I guess that would be better - anyone know which of these phones is worth the most on ebay?

Any more suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Can anyone explain what this means though:
with someones big day next week there should be some good deals to be had.

OK, well looking at things, the orange deal looks the best as you can get a w910i which will ebay for ~160. So after quidco and selling the phone, it works out at about £14/month, which seems a good deal.

Looking at the terms for the vodaphone deal:
£180 credit applied as monthly £10 credit against non-inclusive airtime for 18 months of the contract. Subject to status, availability and new connection through a 18month contract. Terms and conditions apply. Doesn't apply to upgrades. Offer only available through the Vodafone UK website, with selected handset/price plan combinations and for a limited time period. Credit is not transferable and cannot be deducted from your monthly line rental. Credit will be lost if you upgrade or switch contracts
I don't think the creditback works as I'd hoped - it looks like you effectively get £10 extra credit a month towards text/calls, so back to the drawing board...
