Just sent £100 to mortgage today as its less than a week to pay day so I can manage
Made a phone call to mortgage folk today, my over payments are sitting in pending as received but not reducing mortgage for over a week, he said we have received your payments, told them I KNOW you have my payment but you are not reducing my mortgage. A small reduction should reduce interest paid, maybe pennies but they are my pennies.
Complete waste of time. Told to ring another number - number no longer active, phoned the new number and it was IT helpline - Just lost the will and gave up!
Not happy with them at the moment

That seems a wildly over complicated way of handling what is essentially just a bank account with a negative number!Start mortgage date: August 2022; Start mortgage amount: £240,999; Original mortgage free date: August 2056

And are you in a position were you can jump ship an find a mortgage company who actually do what you want them to do with your payments? What I do not give, you must never take by force.

Not worth leaving as ive only got 18 mths left
Phoned mortgage folk again and its being re-calculated, was told I can see you are paying a few pounds over - er hello I don't count £50 chunks as a few pounds, its my hard earned dosh
Another interest rate rise - takes me to 7.75% - if someone could stop them it would be much appreciated!!
Take care everyone1 -
Wow, 7.75% Is that the Standard Variable Rate? It's getting very high. Hopefully, it will settle shortly.
I am going onto my SVR, which I was led to believe would be 6.3% but perhaps it too has gone up. The April payment will be for the March period, so still on the fixed rate. The May payment will be the teller.
I hope it doesn't cause too much impact on your budget. What I do not give, you must never take by force.

Those interest rates are harsh. My cc has just offered me another cash transfer ( I'm not taking) but that is 5% fee. Looks like mine will be 6.99%, but I stand to be corrected. To be fair, I wouldn't want to be swapping from a mortgage to a credit card MFD. I will definitely stick where I am, just eroding the balance slowly. The lower the capital owed, the smaller the interest payment. What I do not give, you must never take by force.

Well over payments have been deducted from total but the payment has only gone down pennies and im not sure its been calculated correctly so im going to keep the extra in my savings and send them over as one bigger monthly chunk. Its a shame as I like to try and send something weekly but not until im happy its being applied correctly
£10 win on postcode lottery this week and ive added 4 things to vinted to see how it goes
Rate is 7.5 and 7.75 will be this week's rise added on. Was chatting to a friend who luckily fixed for 5 years just before all the increases, im really glad for her as she's a single mum who is finding things tough at the moment
Does anyone know if some 50p's being rare and worth more is genuine? It keeps popping up
Enjoy your weekend everyone

I hope you find a method of your overpayments being registered and applied that suits you. I never send small sums, instead wait until I have a lump sum of at least £100. As it's an offset, the money waiting to be paid in reduces the interest anyway, so I am happy to wait to make the payment to reduce the capital.
Congrats on the Postcode lottery win. Every little helps.
Some 50p coins are rare. So are £2.00 coins and even the mule 20p coin. Getting the right one is the key. They aren't as valuable as they used to be, unless you have a Kew Gardens. Otherwise, they are usually worth more than their face value. I still have all my collectors coins, but don't expect to get a lot when I do decide to sell.
