Just checking in to keep myself accountable really. No more spends spent and I am now making some carrot and coriander soup made from the lemons, carrots and coriander I got from thr TGTG boxes. I ve made one batch but have enough for another two at least. I pop it in freezer bags and freeze it flat to maximise on space. That should be 12 servings I would say at least 😊 hope everyone is well!Grocery Challenge 🍇🍈🍉🍊🍋🍌🍍

Echoing good wishes to @elsiepac
Well done on your steak bargains @london1. I was so delighted to think of a virtual MSE chum tucking into a 2p steak on a Tuesday night. Kind of you to leave some packs in the shop for others too.
did another shop at Lidl on Monday - annoyingly my phone battery went flat so I couldn't use the app to get my free bakery item. Never mind, lesson learned (I was less sanguine at the time and metaphorically kicked myself)£110 left until 30th November

Also sharing the concern for @elsiepac, sending many good wishes & hoping you'll be able to be back with us soon!
Dashing in to add £62.75 to my total, spent over the last couple of days in our local shops & supermarket; tomorrow's market spend will give me an idea whether I'm really going to manage to stay under my target this month but it's not looking impossible. Have had DD1 & BF back with us this week; they're away over the weekend but back again Monday...

Another hoping elsiepac is okay. Worried as last time they were not around for a while they were rather ill if I am remembering correctly.
£97.80 spent between a couple of small Mr S shops and an A&C delivery since the last post on the 8th.
We have already put a skip on next weeks A&C delivery so that helps the budget a bit.
We seem to be close to the end of this illness we've had so I'm happy there.
Not too happy about the budget that came out today. Going to have to go to our budgeting book and go through the figures soon. Preparing for the changes sooner will hopefully help us in the long run.
£172.56/£240.
£67.44 left.I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy7 -
if i see a bargain I will always try to get a littel bit, but I like to leave some for other folk to have a bit of a 'cheer up day' as well. I live alone, so two packs of my steaks give me four meals and I think i am quite happy with what I had, hopefully who ever came after me went home and cheerful as I was.
One reason I never go in the evening as it seems to be a mad dash to shovel as much into their trolleys as they can I know for some its desperation ,but for a good few its just a bit on the greedy side.
I shan't go hungry and have enough in my freezer to keep me happy.
Next Tuesday i shall keep an eye out for some veg. There was some this Tuesday, but I still had veg indoors so I didn't bother with it.If I do get a bit more than I need my little neighbour who is a single Mum of two dear little girls gets any excess. Shes a good little soul, and I know she sometimes finds it a bit hard. But she shares her apple tree with me, and I bake her a few cakes or scones for the children. She keeps an eye out and when the weather is snowy or icy she will always knock to see if I need anything bless her.Good neighbours are like gold dust, and she is a wee gem

Two small shops over the last week, £2.49 in Tesco for a loaf, some broccoli and celery, then today we went into a cold Morrisons (felt like they've turned the heating off completely) and spent £4.62 on another loaf, carrots, bananas, oat milk, rich tea biscuits, instant mash and crumpets. Will do a main shop some time next week.7

Well done with those steaks @london1. I think you have achieved the best bargain of the year award.
I also hope @elsiepac is Ok
£1.75 spent on a loaf of bread. Remembered that I had 3 lemons in the fridge so made up a lemon meringue pie for 2 nights pudding. Naughty but nice. The gammon from tescos was slightly bigger than normal so we are getting an extra meal out of it. Cheesy ham pasta eaten tonight.
Struggling with the target that I set this month but i think that is more about my estimate than the price of food. Wishful thinking took over.

I did some top-up shopping yesterday to tide me over until the big shop gets delivered next week. It was pretty much fruit, veg, cheese and butter, which I notice is still at £1.99 at Aldi despite showing as £2.15 on the Asda website if I wanted to add any to my order for next week. Obviously not! I'm really surprised as when I placed the Asda order well over a week ago I assumed that when one supermarket shifted their prices up all the others would follow suit sharpish. 🤷 I wonder if the prices are the same in store or if they're charging more to the people who choose online shopping?
£20.16 spent in Aldi and 75p in coop for the cucumber I forgot to get in Aldi.
£50.97/£2007 -
Hello everyone, just jumping in to update.
I did my weekly food shop today and spent £70.93. I used my app which gave me a £2 off voucher and free cleaning item voucher also. This has now unlocked 10% off my next shop. I got some frozen Indian bits for Christmas in that, and also 4 mini pizzas that were reduced to 20p each. They have gone in the freezer.
I have also bought 6 bags of flour, after reading about motherships purse challenge. It looks very interesting, so I have started also. 6 bags of flour had 10% off making them 58p from 65p. So they are now in store.
This month I have spent...£289.24/ £460
£170.76 left
My spend last month was between £500 and £550 so this is where I have set my target from.Grocery Challenge 🍇🍈🍉🍊🍋🍌🍍
