When you say there are only 3 of you, are those three adults?
Does that include earing out?

So I actually had to pop over to Spar in the dark after 6 pm (unexpected visitors and a few extra beers needed
)
So for curiosty sake I ordered a TGTG bag for £3.09
Spar green olives shelf price £2, reduced price if I chose to buy them this afternoon 50p
Spar fruit salad shelf price £1, reduced price if I chose to buy them this afternoon 50p
Spar leaf salad shelf price £1.19 reduced price if I chose to buy them this afternoon 59p
Spar margherita pizza shelf price £3.45 reduced price if I chose to buy it this afternoon 86p
Spar mozzarrella shelf price £1.45 reduced price if I chose to buy it this afternoon 36p
Non Spar haddock shelf price £3.45 reduced price if I chose to buy them this afternoon £2.34
So for my £3.09 I could have bought these items earlier for £5.15
And I chose not to
Pizza has gone in freezer, grandkids might eat it
Haddock has gone in freezer but I am wary as all my fish normally comes fresh from local fish merchant
Mozzarella has gone in freezer although says don't freeze
Olives, fruit salad and leaf salad use by today although may be okay tomorrow
But why would I eat Spar olives when I still have lovely olives from Turkey holiday
Definitely won't do it again
And unlike anywhere else I have had a TGTG bag they only fill it when you turn up so 10 minute wait

£112.11 / £200 now
salad, chicken, fabric conditioner, milk and matches in one store, yoghurts and lemonade in another.
I'm not deviating from my list 99% of the time and have food items in cupboard/freezer already for this month... goodness knows what the figure would be if I had to buy anything of any substance (which for me would be fish, meat etc)Aim:12mth Emergency Fund -> £14264/£17076 (83%) Aim 2: Mortgage Overpayment -> Paused until other aim fulfilled.7 -
Cant believe how quickly this month is going. I was meaning to buy some mince to batch make lasagna and shepherds pies but the spends are rising quickly so i am hoping to make it through to next month on what we have. 6 months ago I would have stuck to my original plan but i am learning to adjust to what we have to try and stay in budget.
Meal plan :-
1)Sausage, mash, gravy and onion chutney.
2)beef stew (leftover roasted beef brisket) from freezer, with dumplings, roast potatoes and veg.
3) gammon with boiled potatoes peas and leftover sweetcorn from freezer.
4)gammon omelette
5)gammon egg and chips
Any leftover gammon will be frozen for another day.
6)sweet and sour chicken and rice. (there is half a jar of sauce in a tub in the freezer)
7)beef burgers. Onion rings, beans and chips
8)cheesy sausage pasta.
9)fish cakes made with tinned tuna, onion, left over mash, bread crumbs, egg and parsley with chips peas and lemon.
That will keep us going until 23rd November so fingers crossed I can stay in budget even though I have set it really fine.
Dental treatment is taking quite a bit of my money this month!
On a good note although we have got a little chilly on the odd occasion, we have layered up and still not turned heating on. I have also found a bit of vigorous housework is doing the trick! 😂craft stash 2023 =161, 2024 = 119 2025 = £25.96 spent, 128 made and 5 mended,

I'm up to £134.41/£145. Should manage just buying bread and veg for the rest of the month, fingers crossed. I can't remember the last time I came in on budget.7

Last week's spend came to £11.10 for bits and pieces, like eggs and sausages from the market, milk, bread, veg and fruit. Asda were doing two packs of fruit for £2, I got a net of easy peelers and a punnet of grapes, and my receipt told me that I had saved 59p.Grocery challenge 2025: £650/1500 annual budget7

This week's veg box will hit the bank today so that will be £15.99 to add to my spend for the month.
£61.77/£200
4 more shopping weeks to my month though.
Plan for this week is to shop in Sainsbugs I think - we got several till-spits for extra points on various things, plus a "£x off £30" one which is very useable for me I reckon - although allowing that next week should be a light spend week I may have to add in some storecupboard bits to make up the amount. I did notice one for some extra points on a small spend on Tu clothing too so I may well have a quick look at that while I'm in there too. If I time things right I can go via the shop on my way back from the gym on Friday morning so combining journeys as well for even better value!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
